I've experimented with the whole jeans, tie, and SC look. I've found it's more appropriate to pull off that look if you are wearing a nice pair of dark colored jeans, an OCBD, and a SC with casual patterns like plaids and tweeds. But you will always need to wear a nice pair of shoes. When it comes to ties, make sure it's casual like wool, knit, and cotton. I wouldn't suggest silk. The reason I love wearing jeans with SC is I don't currently own an iron so most of my pants need a press. With jeans, I can take them off, throw them around, and still in good "wearing shape". If you aren't sure about how to wear your jeans with a tie, stick with chinos. They bridge the gap between jeans and slacks.

Been traveling so much for work I haven't had much time to go out, but I did find these two today. Keeping the Charvet and the Duchamp is for eBay.

I've definitely pulled off the jeans/sc/tie before to much success. Always have gone with something like a vineyard vines shirt and a knit tie, dark blue jeans. +100 on the nice shoes tip. Been wearing that setup with some AE wingtips and I've had many positive remarks. Wearing something like my every day clarks desert treks would completely nullify any steez had with the rest of the outfit.
There's no easy way to say this, but... those pants look like they have a ******.
Imagine getting that picture texted to you. He sent it and the preview was a tight crop of that region. Definitely did a double take/wtf. Had to open it to actually figure it out.

+1. I would have thought my area would be good. I nearly had a heart attack when I found ONE Barba. These dudes pulled in DOZENS.

What.
Du.
Fug.

Dudes, this was an anomaly even by LA standards. Those of us that witnessed it fully realize we'll probably never see something like this again.

Oh and while looking around, I came across these pants...

That's my wtf of the day.

If I remember correctly I think I watched one of those storage shows a few years ago where a bunch of Suge Knight clothing popped up in a storage locker. Interested to see what this is - o ya and the rest of your haul too :lurk:

Haha, I'm glad you are rocking the stuff! The stuff I got from you are still in the freezer! I've been too lazy to take them out. HA! Dude, now that I think about it, that Coach tie is legit so that Coach shirt I passed a few months ago should be legit too...Oh well, Coach isn't really known for making quality men's clothes. Now, that legit Gucci shirt I passed last week is making me super palm facing! I'll never hear the end of that from my ego...

My secondary haul is minimal in comparison to yesterday's. I believe it's Rando and S_allen_P that will deliver the head explosions this time around.

Also I left Suge's pants behind. they were all odd orphans and were cut like clown pants. I initially saw a pair and thought hmm that might be my waist size, and then when I saw the tag I was like uh oh, pulled them from the rack and was greeted to wide, straight legs about 14 across. Pass-ola.

Also I have 20 messages to get to, which I will do eventually.

haha, and Brioni isn't known for making briefcases. but have you seen one? O.M.G!!!!!
one of my grails. that said, Quality is Quality, i care little for "brand" value. though good quality will often have a brand attached.
so, meh. looking for the good stuff. even if it is not a SF "approved" label.- that coach tie is ****!!!!!!!!!!

What if it's a super casual tie with whimsical patterns? I've always dig the jeans with SC look.

SC with jeans can be a great look, but I'd swap out the tie for a colourful square to give it some pop, if you feel some pop is indeed needed. Which is beside the point, as there was no SC in dude's fit.

But yeah, tie with jeans gives me a "dorky guy at the office on casual Friday" vibe.

I don't know about that, but recall I found Roger Goodell's Su Misura from, I think, the exact same year. Maybe they all got together and did some kind of package deal for the NFL that year? I know designers like to sponsor the clothing to get good exposure. (The end of the broadcast usually says something like "John Madden's wardrobe provided by Ermenegildo Zegna")

This got no love based on the jeans fit, but here's how I do it.

the fit looks comfortable. can i say that darker jeans would blend more? it would help those gorgeous shoes out also.
overall, i thought your outfit looked good.

-yes, Brioni bags are as good as Coach or Louis vouitton clothing. so it's hard to rule out anything.
in a thrift, we just have to get the best available.

my briefcase is epic, a non-"brand" : -Partridge from South Africa. not available.
check them out guys.

Nice fit Dig, care to share the brands/relative thriftiness?

And darker denim doesn't always need to be used in SC fits. Gmmcl pulls off the lighter denim pretty well in that one he just posted, and over in the MC Casual WAYWRN and SW&D WAYWT, poster NOBD nails the look consistently with faded denim.

I think Dig just placed a point in the "jeans, shoes, OCBD, cardigan, sans tie" team! Nicely done!
