This may be viewed as spam...but I don't care.

One of my best friends' little brother , Shane, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday. He was 21, in the US Navy, and was being deployed for 6 months this coming Monday. He was supposed to get married, to his long time girlfriend, yesterday. His buddies came down to take him out for a bachelor party Wednesday night. He partied a little too hard, and tried some things for the first time. Sadly it was also the last time. I knew him since he was in diapers, I went to high school, college, and was room mates with his older brothers. I dated his older sister. Needless to say, I knew the family very well, and they all have a special place in my heart. They lost their mother last year, at age 48, to cancer and times have really been tough for them. My best friend, Steve, has been the leader of the family and paid for all the arrangements for his mothers service, as well as supported his father financially through the struggle. Unfortunately there is no money for his brothers memorial.

I am unable to make it to the service, so I am going to donate a large portion of this weeks sales to the memorial fund for Shane's service and burial. If there is anything you guys see that you want, let me know. I will still offer my usual 50% discount to BIN prices. I will also discount final auction prices.

I will be out of town for the rest of the weekend to go visit the family, and will be leaving for vacation next Wednesday. I will try to get everything shipped on Monday and Tuesday.

Thanks
Cap'n

John Lobb. AGAIN. Second pair in as many weeks. Pics when they've been cleaned up.
lurker[1].gif

Last thing I ever thought I'd find at this store

Finamore, also cucita a mano like the barbas. A few of these still had the string where the tag had been hanging wrapped around a button. Almost all of these in both brands had crisp fold lines still intact.
And then

Truzzi, a single Buonamassa Napoli (Kiton level Barba), one Camiceria Napoletana (also Barba made).

And for good measure

Attolini.

Oh and also these

Downside I just found

ffffuuuu.gif

Think they're still worth the flip? Or time to punt?

Did I mention this week it was 25% off mens long sleeve shirts?

I had to leave behind several Truzzi and Fins because they decided they were worth charging $15. No clue what made them not tag them all the same.

I think I'm done for the weekend.

Found a few things yesterday at two different shops. Also, I'm headed to Santa Monica on Monday for my last spring break in college. I'm planning to hit as many shops as I can while I'm there. If any Cali/LA members feel like PM'ing me and giving me some advice on shops to hit, consignment or thrift, that'd be much much appreciated. Even food spots I can't miss would be appreciated. I've never been to California so I'm pretty excited about the experience, particularly with the LA thrift hauls I've been seeing lately.

Anyways....

Southwick Suit pretty small, I'm guessing a 38 with short sleeves. Available.

Thomas Pink Tie- Available

Paul Stuart Pindot Tie- Available

YSL double breasted blazer, I usually leave these behind but with the YSL buttons I figured it was worth picking up.

Vintage Norman Hilton Plaid Blazer. Thought this thing was awesome. Approx. 40 R. Available but considering keeping.

Brooks Brothers Made in Italy Blazer. Tagged a 45 R but fits smaller than that, dimensions below if anybody's interested, even though I'm tempted to get it tailored for myself. Available.

Chest 23"
Sleeve Length 25"
Length 31"
Shoulder to Shoulder 20"

Nataku, not an expert, but the watch looks real to me, often lower end models, (even high brands) had plastic faces. so, if it is fake. that is a pretty nice fake. the age, band, and font on the back say 60's. maybe entry level model?- no diamonds, Gold. i say real but worth little. is it quartz? Quartz =fake. open it up. edit- sorry i'm late, also what spoo said.
Thanks! It is an automatic. I wound it up and it works. Hopefully worth more than the $2.99 I paid. :)
Why you might ask? I decided it had been too long since I'd been out to a few particular shops, and decided to check them out.
The first one provided me with: A sweet little no-name pocket square for myself. (Actually went in to this shop hoping to find a green square.) Huzzah! Also grabbed this, great condition...
Made in USA, down filled goodness.
Last thing I ever thought I'd find at this store Odd pants. Cool closure and details. More pics if interested. Solid finds had I decided to turn around and head home. Then I hit up this other store down the street from the first. **** got real very fast. I messaged the Darkest of all Matter when I'd hit 10 shirts under my arm, and I hadn't even hit the actual shirt rack yet, just the new racks. Really wish they had carts at this shop, the clerks were laughing every time I brought over another 5 shirts to put behind the counter while I continued to pillage. No gold buttons or Comme de anything but... I humbly present to you:
Barba. Half or so with hand attached collars/shoulders.
Finamore, also cucita a mano like the barbas. A few of these still had the string where the tag had been hanging wrapped around a button. Almost all of these in both brands had crisp fold lines still intact.

:bounce2: I think this is the biggest shirt haul this thread has every seen. I'd go out on a limb and venture a guess that these are all from the same owner. I can't begin to imagine how much this guy spent on just shirts alone. Just think of what his suit wardrobe looks like! Chalk another one down on LA's score-card. That Woolrich is a good find. Late 70's-early 80's. Looks like it's in nice shape!

You guys are killing it! Jamie... Just WOW! however if anyone quotes that in its entirety again I'll chop ********* off. Evil, maybe best shirt haul ever? Ok, pics forthcoming but I think I may have found a thread first in triplicate. 3x indochino sport coats. Not super valuable obviously, but all NWOT (vents basted) all functional cuffs, dual vent, hacking pockets and uber slim. I think they're about a 38 and will hopefully make one of you skinny bastards very happy. I'm pretty impressed with them Tbh, half canvassed, nice fabric. Should I try to sell these on ebay or would BS be better?

Just got back from the local SA. Found a couple good things, and some weird stuff:

Spencer Hart shirt, my size:

Bleeding madras tie made for a local men's store:

100% cashmere overcoat in my size. It's a little beat up and nothing fancy (Club Room), but I didn't have a navy overcoat. I think it's worth the $10 I paid for it:

Saw "Savile Row" and MOP buttons, so I picked this up. (Was only $3)

Then I noticed this. What's with the armpits?

Anybody interested in this? I'm a thin guy, but this was cut too slim even for me. I haven't measured it, but it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 16x36. French cuffs. Also it's monogrammed on the left side of the chest.
lol8[1].gif

This tie. Whoa. The brand is Edsor Kronen, which I gather is a fancy men's store in Berlin. Says it's handmade.

Epic roadrunner tie. As a New Mexican, I couldn't pass this up, even if it is stained.

A few things from today...

Paid considerably for most of it unfortunately, therefore unavailable.

A first for me:
700

700

Two pairs of B&L Ray Bans. The first is a normal pair of aviators, the second has prescription lenses. One lens is the thickest lens I've ever seen, the owner must have literally been blind in one eye.
700

700

I got these from a professional flipper. I'll post a better picture of the label on the polo, I'm not 100% convinced on it.:

WTF LA?! Wow. Remember the time DM7 thrifted a hundred Turnbull and Asser shirts?

Question for the LA guys: Are any of the thrifts brand aware and charge a bunch for the good stuff? Do they have higher-priced Goodwill boutiques they pull certain brands for? Or is everything standard thrift prices?
