Ahhh! I just spent money at a non-thrift store.

Spurred on by barrel's exploration into the beast that is Sierra Trading Post, I took a gamble on this, after getting it down to $385 plus free shipping (they wanted $21, those scoundrels.

90 percent wool/10 percent cashmere.

If it doesn't work, I can always return it, I guess.

Sierra Trading Post is pretty cool. I've been in their Reno store a few times.

I hope it works out for you, buddy! I'm thinking this is 1/2 canvassed? We want thrift pics!

Yeah, 1/2 canvassed. But I've needed a navy blazer for a while, so yeah.

Another question on sizing...

9.5E = ~10.5D in US sizing? Or are these pre-British system? They appear to be within a millimeter or two of the length of the Allen Edmonds I found yesterday (9.5D). What about width? Is a 1946 British E the same as an American E width? Or is it a D like a newer British one would be?

Nataku!!! :slayer:

Can't believe you're finding W+H...they make the best pants ever. Still want to try their shirts (though as of today the hobby fund is all tapped out. Dammit.)

@barrel, it was one of those auctiony shows where the dudes buy stuff...at auctions, I forget. :D

Anyone interested in a pair of Cheney's single monk shoes? Medium brown. Decent shape with minor creasing. Size is 10D (appears to be US sizing). PM with interest and I'll send better pics.

I've yet to come across a pair of W+H pants (maybe I have.....probably have, just forgot) but I've come across a handful of their shirts and a couple sweaters. They're damn nice. Was recently at a local retail store that carries W+H and was eyeing their jeans. On a :brick: note, a group of regulars and I (guess I'm considered a regular too) were talking today and they mentioned that a pretty aggressive flipper had just made off with three mint Canvas Back green canvas/brown leather bags. It was hard to try and contain the :fu:

Of course the minute I get the thrifting bug I am swamped at work. In any case I was driving back from a client meeting and passed a small Marshalls I've never been in before.

My wife has started making noises along the lines of 'wow, you sure do find a lot of stuff for you...', so I decided to pop in and see if I could score the lady something.

Walk in the door and Bam! a small display of Ferragamo shoes. Unfortunately nothing in her size. She's six feet so size eleven.

Head over to the mens section but it's the usual selection of Rockports and weird Polo skate type shoes... and then... top right corner of the clearance shelf...

Now instead of thrift fitting in front of the mirror I am practicing: 'I swear I went in to find YOU something...'
