Would you guys pick up a 95 cashmere/5 silk plaid Kiton at $319 to flip? (Or trade for amazing things that are in my size plus a small amount of cash).

There would be no question if it were my size, but it's a 42 L.

And I'd normally not ask such questions, of course, lest they enrage the group's delicate sensibility. But since I'm not drunk, I need a good reason to make a bad decision.

lol. I cut quite the dashing figure myself, until I look in the mirror.

Love the jacket, but I think a solid colored tie would have really made this come together.

Mini-thrift from me:

Coat: Raffaele Caruso (bought from Mainy/DM7)
Shirt: BB OCBD (thrifted)
Tie : Ancient Madder from Bayne-Williams (an old LA men's store)
Pants: J Peterman moleskins (thrifted)
Socks: Byford (STP)
Shoes: Shell Florsheim (Ebay)
Belt (unseen): Brooks Brothers (thrifted)
Square: No name silk
Love the shells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's a 42L and modern styling I'd def pick it up (it's also my size so I'd be doubly in trouble)! Someone here will trade for it easy, I can't say how it will flip as I've never been blessed to sell anything of that quality.

If it's my measurements you can always make an easy $80 for a proxy

As for a flip, If it's a good cut and in desirable color and/or pattern you won't lose money on the deal, but how high it goes for in the end is hard to say. You can always test the waters by posting pics and measurements here to see what people will offer.

Good call! Just grabbed a Schott I-S-674-M-S Flight Jacket.
Do those sell well? I have one that my neighbor gave me just sitting in my closet. It's something big like a 44 (I'm a 38)

Let me put it this way: I just dropped that kind of cash on Kiton, and I'd STILL :fence: Hammer for that SC, if the length is 32 or under. Having said that, from a pure ROI perspective, the Ebay sold listings seem to suggest it's a good investment, but there are lower-end outliers.

To the death my friend! You're looking at a genuine member of the University of London Union Fencing squad!

I don't know if I'll pull the trigger on the Kiton. I probably should. I'll let it sit a bit, though I suspect it will be gone tomorrow.

Pics?

Gray with deep red windowpane

Lots of frustration today, but I did find this orphan

But.....

I also found the darker, double breasted version, in suit form. Bought in 1987.

I'm considering going back tonight, but will definitely be back tomorrow to look for the pants. There was also an untagged navy DB with the same hallmarks, but I couldn't find the pants.

The orphan could be paired with jeans, right? Savile Row on top, Ed Hardy on the bottom?

EDIT: He's the CFO of a huge mortgage company. Figures.

p2p: 22.6
sleeve: 26
shoulder: 18
length: 31.5

Pinstripe orphan is tough to pair. I picked up a wicked cool DB/dual vent/ticket pocket MTM/bespoke orphan with every intention of wearing it as a casual separate. I'm very close to re-donating it (non-Savile Row, so no name recognition). OTOH, I also picked up a Henry Poole orphan, single breast, dual vent, ticket pocket, flannel stripe orphan, and sold it for a surprising price to a dude in Japan, who I'm sure is rocking it like there's no tomorrow. EDIT: I mention the sale only to suggest that Savile Row orphans can be desirable, and should not be left behind. HAMMER: If we're talking about former athletic lives in the UK, I'm a former member of the Worcester College, Oxford Men's 1st VIII, so I'll row you into submission! (How does that not sound nearly as intimidating as him knowing how to dice me with a sabre?)
