Picked one of these up off eBay last month - it's great. Have never seen it at a thrift, though.

Ooh that's nice. I picked up a unstructured navy blazer from them at a local discount store last week for spring. Is exactly what I was looking for.

Still trying to get use to your new avatar. Great pictures as always

Wish the pic was mine, it's from the listing. I'm still experimenting with my photo setup. Made a light tent from PVC, still needs a lot of tweaking.

Last night after work I found a rack of BB. Took home 4-5 SC's and a vintage suit. Left behind a handful more that had some damage. Also found a pair of Hugo Boss loafers in great condition for $8. Man, they are junk, but should probably sell alright on ebay. I've never seen their shoes closeup before. I hope they aren't all made this poorly, because I'm sure they're like $300 new. There's one shop that I have started to hit every single day, and you really get a feel for what the donation flow is like when you begin to go to the same place on a daily basis. You can also determine what the competition is like, based on what you find. It does start to get a little awkward at the checkout. I guess I feel somewhat guilty for buying up all the good stuff, so I'm always coming up with random reasons as to why I'm buying a handful of heavy sweaters and jackets in South FL. "Oh, you going up North?" "Yeah, I travel up there a few times a year, that's why I'm buying all these jackets in random sizes. That's also why I did the same thing last week, gonna be cold as a motherfucker up there, you know?"

No need to explain yourself, you aren't stealing the jackets or asking for anything lower than their posted sticker price. If you actually feel bad, buy the place a box of donuts and coffee or something, you will be a hit.

PSA: just scored six pairs of Levi's Vintage Clothing denim for $50 a pop. They are going fast (sale started 30 minutes ago): http://venteprivee.com

Got two pairs of the 1947s, two pairs of 1954s, one 1944, one 1966

Edit: grabbed two more pairs of the 1944s.

And GMMcL... :slayer:

Sweater: Keeping. A few moth snacks buried in there, but the weave disguises them nicely. Even if I got them rewoven, it'd still be an awesome deal based on what I paid.

Dat haul.

But seriously, this sweater.

The clerks at our thrift were continually asking 'you going to try that on - no returns on shoes, purses and jackets' so we told them we were sending it back to Greece for the family to sell to buy heating oil. Now they show us what they consider items we should buy like knock-off LV purses and fur coats!

When thrift store employees ask, I just tell them I am part of an online thrifting community, and that we buy stuff to trade with other members to get stuff we want for ourselves. It's the truth and they typically love the idea of it.

Thanks, guys. It was a good day. But, again, not for my wallet. I will answer all PMs .... eventually. Shipments will go out. Sorry for the delays; just give me a couple of days, fellas.
I have been searching for a pair of boots such as these for over a year now! :slayer: WANTY! :bounce2:
Dig: I found these buried and neglected at a thrift. Dry as a bone and starting to split at the vamp. Made a project out of them. Still plenty of cracking, but they're a beater pair of boots, and that's what they're for. They're also AAAAs. No, I typed that correctly. They're SUUUUPER narrow. I have them on trees stretching them gently, but they CRUSH my feet. The things we do for fashion, right? Anyway, thrift fit.

sick, just grabbed a pair of the 1947s for $75 shipped, thats sweet

Nice. I just ordered two more pairs of the 1944s, which supposedly fit a few inches large in the waist. I normally take a 36. Will probably have to return most of the 34 x 36s I ordered but am hoping I can make the 1944s work.

I did get one GW a box of xmas cookies, but they have so many employees only a few actually knew who it was. You're definitely right, though, and it would work much better at a smaller store with a handful of workers.

Nothing like boosting sales by badgering your customers with the stringent no return policy.

RE: Three buttons and thrifting

While two buttons look best from most brands - i still love the Neapolitan 3/2 roll - particularly for an odd jacket.

The Dark Knight hasn't taken that away from us has it?

3/2 is my personal favorite. I was talking about hard three buttons.
