+1 giving the new comers a chance and to learn is what makes this website a bustling metropolis! I love seeing it grow and learning about where else in the country (and world) you can get for thrift prices! Some of the stuff I see just knocks me off my feet and it's really cool seeing people have fun with the same hobby I love to do.
+2 for Van Morrison

:fence: you for the sweater! EDIT: Upon reflection, sweater is a tad too bright for me to pull off. She's all yours.

I've long been an advocate for a welcoming environment. But in our defense, we did give some constructive, polite guidance before finally losing collective patience.

Anybody wants a Canali 16 shirt for cost +shipping? I got this from my boy, Troika but the collar is a bit frayed. PM me for details.

Such a tragic day for the LAPD and for LA in general. To our So-Cal members, please be safe out there!

As a noob, here's what I do and what I think others should do.

1. Read and learn (I'm on like page 50 of the thread, gonna read it all eventually)

2. Post hauls. Preferably with cool stuff.

3. Shut the **** up and repeat steps 1 and 2.

Not much thrifting lately...I'm broke.

Green w/ yellow and blue windowpane check Samuelsohn SC Silk/Linen/Wool

PRL Button Fly Cargo (?) Flannel Pants

Creamsicle Brioni: Orange with white on white houndstooth contrast collar and cuffs.

Personally, I think the new posters have really stepped up to the plate. There are a couple guys I have traded with that are pulling in better stuff than I was when I first started on this thread. I know I was stoked when I found Mani a few years ago :embar:

+100

The PRL pants will be OK, but unless really really nice (those do look nice), I stick to only picking up the Made in Italy pants which are made by Corneliani

It should be noted that not all of us live in Cali either. So a brag for some of us < a brag for others.

For instance if I ever found a Hermes tie then the Kiton pants you guys were just talking about would be mine.

THRIFT ALERT for the north east.

If you so dare, do your damnedest to get out to your spots today...if they are open. The impending snowfall will surely separate the men from the boys. The bounty will be great and the harvest will be plentiful for those who have the balls to go take it. Good luck and be safe.

Is anyone else picturing cap in full military regalia, giving the troops a rousing speech before sending them into certain danger?

Makes me want to skip work and hit the thrifts... not that I need much motivation.

Woah that Gerry is pretty retro. Don't think I could pull it off personally but i'm sure it will flip well.

I keep looking for one of those Rocky Mountain Featherbed vest you got a while back. Those things are nice, would love to find one for myself but i'm not willing to spend the $400-500 for one on Ebay. I'm betting my chances of finding one ...and in my size are pretty much slim to none.... but hey that worked for the Barbour Beaufort i got a couple months back. Maybe some more thrifting magic is in store for me. lol

Just don't slap anyone when you're in the trenches.

Thrift fit from yesterday. Winter is the time for tweed and corduroy.
All thrifted or received from SFers, except for the Mr. B's Blake boots which were on sale at Aldo.
Chet Baker Sings: I need your iphone 5 - my 4 takes crap pics. That HT jacket is actually charcoal. : (
