However is "studio" meaningful?
Yea they are pretty crappy IMO....but sell to others on ebay well. If you are use to their mainline, or AE or anything halfway decent your not going to like the quality of the studio shoes. I had a pair litterly come unglued on me

I completely disagree. I have a pair of Ferragamo Studio black Chelsea boots in calf that are quickly becoming my favorite boots. They're super comfortable, Italian made, well constructed, and look awesome. I guess they run the gamut like anything else.

I had a pair of Studios come unglued as well. They're cemented shoes, so they're not high quality.

Tell me more about boots?
lurker%5B1%5D.gif
Brands? eBay Value?

I see them all the time but do not have the expertise to pick them up.
I don't know anything about boots. Just liked them for $5.00 Have sold Dan Post ones simply because I know they ain't cheap.

Super super excited to brag about this pickup off ebay. Would I prefer a 7.5 vs an 8, yes (beggars cant be choosers), BUT glad the seller didnt really know what he had.

"glove leather Opera Pumps have been worn many times" = more like have been worn maybe a half dozen times and are in kick ass condition
"
These shoes would have originally sold for around $350" = more like $600+ but whos counting.

Best part is with a thin pad and/or thick socks these are going to work amazing for the few times I wear a Tux!!! SOO excited right now.

Only things left for my Tux are a waistcoat (impossible impossible impossible to find) and a Grosgrain bow tie which I'll prob have to have custom made (and cost more then the damn shoes) as I want a pointed end one and no one seems to make a black grosgrain pointed end bow tie

PS - Anyone have a custom bow tie made before? If so any references would be great.

Hey guys,

Just picked up this Brioni from Ogretorix and I am having second thoughts about the gorge... Too low? In contrast is a high gorge LB I have.

Not only did I hear it on the radio today, but I also heard a kid singing it at the middle school I teach at!

the thing that makes it authentic is they filmed part of the video in one of those nasty ass goodwill outlets with the blue bins

BIG SHOUTS OUT to CapnWes and Brianpore for a trade and a buy that made my week

What's the occasion for the tux?
Do we really need an occasion to put together a tux outfit
lol8[1].gif
but what has made it a priority is my cousins black tie wedding in a few months. The outfit should last for years and years I imagine, going pretty down the line classic with a little flair (pointed bow tie).

IMO everyone should be on the lookout for formal wear on the cheap. Its amazing how things slip though the cracks and when you "need" one its impossible to find. I've been keeping my eye open for a perfect tux for well over a year and only a few weeks ago did the perfect one pop up. Had been kicking myself for a pair of Brooks Brothers Opera Pumps I didnt buy about a year ago b/c I didnt need them at the time and this was the first pair I've seen on ebay close to my size under $100.

Looks fine to me. IMO the Brioni is classic/timeless. The happy-medium. Any lower and it would look dated and any higher would be modern. The LB is modern.

Brian, I believe I've read that The Cordial Churchman (http://www.thecordialchurchman.com/) will do it, and her prices seem very reasonable. Guiseppe at An Affordable Wardrobe did a review I think.
