I have a bunch of 30% coupons for Value Village (which I think is like Savers in the USA) so most of the family headed out last night to see what we could find.
Really nice, well-constructed Holt Renfrew house brand shirt, Made in Italy. (Holts is like - I think - Saks Fifth Avenue). Not available.
Would any of you Canadians hazard a guess on who does their private label stuff?

Check to see if the shirt is actually made in Italy, or if it's just the fabric. I have a Holt shirt with that situation.

I just grabbed a shirt and pants from the Holts Last Call outlet. The pants are made by Coppley, so I wouldn't be surprised if the made in Canada shirts and suits/SCs were as well.

Well, things have not been incredibly good for me thrifting as of late - can't seem to find much of anything :(

I did find a Harry Rosen made in Italy 100% merino wool black sweater for myself.... I will get pics of it later.

Beyond that,

Harris Tweed Sport Coat (46 Long, perfect gift for my dad these holidays):

Then the next 2 are things I passed on...

First I hope I don't get yelled at too bad by you guys but I just wasn't sure.

100% Cashmere Butch Blum Sport jacket - rips in the armpits lining, otherwise in great condition.... Should I have kopped it? Should I go back and try to get it? Worth getting the lining repaired?

The other thing I left behind was a Burberry mens coat with a button-in lining. Its price tag was pretty freaking hefty for a thrift (Read: $250) so there was no way I was going to get it, at least without posting first. The coat itself seemed to be in very good condition, but it was just like... Cotton/Nylon if I remember correctly, no Wool/Cashmere.

Please excuse my two terrible pics...

Alright, hopefully someone can help me out weather leaving those last 2 behind were a good or bad decision.... I really just don't know enough at this point - but I can go back and get them, hopefully.

Other than that... I guess I had another question for anyone who could help. With regards to Cashmere, say 100% cashmere sweaters. Should I always be picking them up regardless of brand? Yesterday I left 2 sweaters behind, one navy, one black, $35 each. One was Mount Cashmere, I cant remember the other - they were both a little bit for me, but I had no idea if they were worth picking up to trade on here or sell if no one was interested.

Let me know!

Thanks for any and all help, hopefully Ill have some better luck next week and can actually post some available stuff :s

Thanks for the heads up jkidd, I will keep the big sizes in mind for trade/sell on the forum rather than heading straight to the bay. That being said I had previously listed stuff on the bay that would be appreciated here. Here are some recent thrifts for my cold weather people.

Vintage Orvis Derby Tweed belted shooting jacket 3 btn. Made in England tagged 44. Bay
700

Big fan of this fabric
700

Cooper A-2 leather jacket. Made in USA 50R. Bay
700

First every Barbour find and doubt I will ever top this (unless the next one fits). 75th Anniversary Limited Edition Barbour International size 44, no belt. Had no idea what it was when I first picked it up but having done a bit of googling found that it was only in US J Crew stores for a limited time (winter 2010) and only 75 of each size were made in this particular style. Bay
700

Hard to believe that this was found in the burbs of Toronto as we didn't have JCrew until earlier this year.
700

Burberry 100% cashmere scarf - navy blue
700

Begg of Ayr Cashmere/wool (70/30) Black Watch scarf
700

700

Moncler knit wool/acrylic scarf. Made in Italy. Super thick and ridiculously big, had what appears to be a light bleach stain (pic) but that won't affect how warm it is.
700

700

Vintage Patagonia Snap T with hilarious sea creature pattern on it, wish it fit. Made in USA size XL. Bay

LOL $250 for an old raincoat? There's pretty much nothing short of a mint, recent RLPL or better suit that I am picking up from a thrift for two and half bills

So, remember how I idiotically didn't read the full listing on a pair of Simon Miller raw selvedge jeans and missed the fact that the inseam was too short? Well, apparently lightning does strike twice...and it strikes harder the second time. Won these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Simon-M...mqWKKRnuSl5o37AhAl6HvHM=&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I seriously thought I'd get outbid at twice that amount...can't believe what a good deal I got. You can't see the model from the tag, but I'm pretty sure they're the same M001s that I currently own (raw, selvedge), which are amazing. So excited.

I have another piece that perhaps you kind folks can help me ID. I'm a big fan of Scottish stuff from kilts to tweed to wool sweaters to whisky, so obviously I'm familiar with the Kinloch Anderson label. I know there stuff is fairly pricey and well-made. I found this 100% cashmere coat at a thrift shop a couple months ago and it's been sitting in my closet since then, because I live in California and it doesn't really get cold enough often for a proper coat.

This jacket is quite nice, and fits me well. But what is it? Kinloch doesn't seem to make this style of coat anymore, or even recently. Is there any way to estimate the age of it based on the available labels?

Here are a few pictures, and I've fixed the white balance issue I was having yesterday ("somebody" forgot to change the white balance setting from cloudy to flash).

lucky for you, literally the only jeans that fit my weird ass figure correctly are apc new standards and it is almost impossible to find them for less than 60 without them being hemmed to like a 29 inseam
I have been looking into lvc 501's and I like their higher rise but don't like the levis branding but at least their pockets are not made for midgets, I have a hard decision to make in my next denim purchase
