Bespoke Holland and Sherry 2 button center vent sports coat in a black/white glen plaid with red over check atleast a 48r, they had 2 or 3 others but none had a make label though they were all made for the same person (oddly enough being a huge hockey fan it was someone named Scott Stevens) 10.00
Hickey Freeman Collection black/grey overcheck shirt 6.00
BCBG white blue grey stripe shirt 6.00
vintage Gucci women's watch 1.00

I nearly bought a purple glen-plaid Versace db blazer but didnt think i would look good with green hair or white face paint.

Found a few things today that were too good to pass up at the prices. NWT recent Patagonia L/S button-down shirt 2 Helmut Lang button-down shirts (Maroon and black) Thomas Pink Superfine 2 Fold Burgandy dress shirt I found 5 shirts from the same Savile Row tailor I found the suits and overcoat from a few weeks ago. Sadly, they were all white and well worn, thus they have turned a putrid yellow color. They weren't recent, either. Probably 80's. This tailor is now defunct and I can't find anything about them online. The name slipped my mind, but if you're interested I mentioned the name a couple weeks ago in a post on here regarding those suits. I found this pair of shoes in the Salvation Army's "Select" section. Most stuff is priced absurdly high, but there are a few good deals. I'm kicking myself for passing up those Polo RL shell cordovan boots. I found these there today. They're probably ridiculously overpriced, but I'm not so informed on shoes and they may be a decent deal (I saw those NOS Florsheim and Penny's shoes on B/S for around this price, so who knows). They are NOS Executive Imperials by Mason. $79 on them. Size 11 D. They will be 1/2 price on Friday. Any interest? I apologize for the ****** cell-phone pictures.

I've found the thrifting to have dried up lately. All you see is Merona crap from Target (NWT) and other overstock stuff from Macys and Dillards.

Also the "Boutiques" that Goodwill has come up with are a crock. They try to get $20 out of a used Tommy Hilfiger shirt.

The Boutique thing annoys me to no end. Whenever i see a section labled as "boutique" or "designer" it might as well say overpriced ****. This 1 thrift i go to is selling an older than dirt Hugo Boss db suit for 179.00 and a crappy bleach stained Zegna shirt with torn up cuffs for 25.00, all because they're "designer". Ofcourse these are mixed in with other "high end designer" items from Donna Karen, Tommy Bahama, and anything that sounds vaguely Italian.

It's ridiculous.

I've been real unlucky with the orphaned suit jackets lately. Today a navy pinstripe light flannel Chester Barrie for Saks - in excellent condition too. Also, an Isaia 150s light weight gray jacket. I sadly left both behind because I couldn't find the pants.

Executive Imperials aren't a bad shoe, at the price. That said, the price is $104.88 from their website, so $79 would be a bit pricey from a thrift...even for new (I'm not so sure about the OS part).

Eh - figures. They looked a bit old (80's-ish) to me - then again I don't know much about shoes to begin with

Guess they'll sit and collect dust until the thrift comes to their senses.

Got a full Belvest suit for NM, ~40R. It is kind of glen check without the tartan aspect... not sure what the pattern is called--houndsooth? In any case, it's small grey and black checkers. Single breast, single vent. It is not modern in cut, but not ancient by any means. Medium lapels, decent gorge. It'll be going on Ebay tomorrow, probably (speaking of which, some of my John Kents end in a few hours, hint hint [see my sig]).

Beged-Or 38R (*very* slim fitting) vintage brown suede jacket. Clearly a product of its time, with the wide lapels. It is actually still a beautiful jacket if you're going for that vintage feel. Unfortunately, it is too short on me and falls just right to make my butt look like it is popping out.

12k Gold Filled Artisan (TM) (heh) cufflink+tie pin set.

All on ebay by tomorrow.

That's very very nice. A real treasure! Good job!

Well, gentlemen, I guess it's all downhill from here.

My brother and I were out thrifting on Wednesday, and at the local Goodwill found an essentially perfect Henry Poole Savile Row double-breasted dark blue herringbone suit, $24.95. It's dated 1953, and was made for Adrian de Potier, presumably the British documentary filmmaker, editor and researcher.

And, even more astoundingly, it fits my brother quite well! In style, still very wearable. Only needs some minor tweaking.

Also found NWOT Charvet, and Talbott Seven Fold ties, which seem trivial in comparison.

Still in shock.

Excuse the quick photos. Some weird reflections in the over all view, the suit is perfect.

So I think I've found the Holy Grail of thrift stores. More like an un-thrift store - it has 80% good stuff and 20% mediocre stuff/junk - with normal thrifts it's visa-versa. I have a thrifting buddy to thank for this, as he PMed me last night telling me about a thrift he discovered yesterday that had some goodies. Well, I got up this morning and headed out expecting a normal thrift with a few good items, which, with my luck were probably gone already. Holy cow was I wrong. The suit/sportcoat rack was 70% recent Samuelsohn suits and sportcoats (44R - all within 4-5 years old). There were Zegnas, Armanis, Oxxfords and more mediocre stuff as well. But NO ugly 70's-80's polyester stuff. Hmmm - the shirt racks were jam packed with recent shirts from Thomas Pink (at least a dozen), Hamilton (all from '06 and '07 - maybe a few newer - at least 15), Zegna, Lorenzini, Robert Talbott.....lots of other high end stuff mixed in. Here's the kicker - all clean (drycleaned) and most were in like new condition. It was high-end tie galore. Recent stuff from Zegna, Talbott (at least a half-dozen Talbott Estate ties), Etro, Hilditch & Key...... Well, enough blabbing. Here's my haul from today. Spent about $150 in all (most I've ever dropped at a thrift, but was well worth it!). Tops/Shirts: - RLPL Seafoam colored polo - Malo for Barneys blue polo - Vilebrequin salmon linen shirt - Purple Loro Piana casual shirt - Zegna dress shirt - Fray for NM dress shirt - Cucinelli cashmere 1/4 zip sweater

Shoes and accessories: -Santoni loafers - Ties from Vineyard Vines and Zegna - Unlabeled pocket square

Hangers. .39 each and .9 for the Kuhlman....

Jackets: Cashmere Brioni ($33)

Polo RL (Corneliani) hacking jacket (this will be for sale here shortly - I have too many similar jackets and the wife is angry with me for dipping into the Holiday trip fund - need to recoup the money lost). Jacket is NWOT and is for sale here http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=152340
