Found a Richard Paine piece today, but it was literally mothholed beyond any redemption.

The Met has a bunch of Stovel & Mason in their collection, including this amazing piece of clothing:

From Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.: "The most important thing is that the suit be well cut.  Then it needn't be particularly new or even particularly well pressed.  It will always hang properly.  I make my suits last for years.  The other day, I took one that's, oh, eight years old, in to be altered -- have the lapels narrowed and the trousers taken in.  I go to Stovel & Mason in Old Burlington Street where I've trained the cutter to what I like, and he never commits the classic fault of London tailors -- leaving too much fullness in the seat of the trousers."

does anything look off about this auction. can't figure out why these are ~$40 cheaper than even the cheapest auctions...

Decided against my better judgement to drop by a couple shops today before work while I was running errands and wore my 986s for the first time in quite a while. They have a flaw that tears socks that I haven't had a chance to fix. I was rewarded with not 1, but 3 pairs of Alden loafers, 1 683, and 2 681, all in my size, and 2 with new soles and heels, the third was Alden restored, but the previous owner had worn through the soles. Also a Navy orphan which will soon be converted to a blazer with some wonderful H&S buttons that I have laying around. No tags at all, but literally every stitch on this jacket appears hand done, un-vented, working cuffs, lovely. Second stop yielded 2 pair of Bills M3s, one in stone and one in British khaki.

Heartbreakingly though I had to leave the oldest Oxxford piece I have ever come across, it was a wonderful Kings Cashmere hounds tooth SC dated 11-11-59. Had several bad bites and wear spots unfortunately.

That jacket looks like a hit of DMT come to life.

Long story short, it was the best vacation I've ever been on. Egypt is a strange and beautiful place. I miss it already.

I'm just starting to go through the 2000 or so photos I took, but I'll post some up here soon, and on my tumblr.

Quick question, when you guys pick up stuff with moth holes, aren't you worried about bringing any home and ruining all your other shit? If i so much as see a single moth hole I steer clear of the item.
