First off, pics are garbage and I apologize. Phone is dead, light is awful and the camera couldn't get much of anything. Better ones Sunday, I promise.

Second off, almost all the Italian stuff is N/A because it fits. All the EZ and the Cucinelli. I'll figure out what I want to keep and what I don't, and if any of it becomes available I'll let the many who PM'd me know.

ANYWAY,

So this morning I picked up a friend and fellow thrifter who does women's clothing and housewares. We had breakfast at the local greasy spoon and hit the road.

I saw this:

I saw this:

\

(Aspesi, PRL, Etro, Hilo, RG, Baldessarini)

And I saw this:

(Osh Kosh, Eton, RG, RG, RLPL silk, Ike Behar with a great pattern)

I saw this:

(Jared Lang, Jared Lang, W+H, Corneliani, Rugby RL)

I saw this:

(d'Avenza shawl collar tux)

and these:

(Blackwatch Dunn in Harris Tweed, Dak's blazer)

and this:

Then, since I had so much fun at my family reunion last week, I thought I'd crash a few more.

First I stopped in at the Cucinelli reunion:

Then I popped in to see the Zegnas:

Then I spent more money than anyone should at a thrift store:

Then I had a beer and lunch.

So for those counting that's (Click to show)
6 Cucinelli, 11 Zegna, 2 Corneliani, 3 loud Skeets, two turtledoves, and a d'Avenza in a pear tree.

And now I'm sitting in front of my computer with thousands in Italian tailoring up top and no pants.

Next, Frenchy isn't a bad guy when you get to know him. Sure, he has an ego, but ego is embedded in French DNA.

Finally, speaking of French, someone PLEASE help me figure out what exactly this is:

First touch, I think cycling jersey which is awesome because I have yet to find one from an era pre-1980...but wait, no zipper--

and a number? Unlikely to be a cycling jersey. Next guess is goalkeeper (#1)

Googling "Westen Sports" brings up one result for an Australian soccer jersey on eBay, but I think they meant to spell "Western" so that doesn't help. Also written is "Tallie," which is French for "size" so that at least narrows it down to French-speaking countries.

Looza is apparently a fruit juice company in Belgium, and SA would be like LLC in America. Looza marketed at bike races beginning in 1963, but also started sponsoring the St. Truidin football club in 1966. The jersey said '70s to me, so maybe I have a game-worn jersey here...? But then what the hell does "Cady" have to do with anything. Wikipedia shows it's a county in Northern Ireland or a river in France...

Hand-stitched repair job done very well.

Excellent detail on the number:

Reinforced at shoulder:

And it almost looks like there's a player's name on this interior tag. Really wish it wasn't so faded.

Fabric feels like a serious quality, very fine, tighterthanavirgin-knit merino wool.

Fit on this thing is perfect in every sense of the word. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

That's definitely weird. That's not a cycling jersey for sure! Is it written 'tallie' or 'taille'?

S.A. stands for Société Anonyme which would be LLC and the Belgian use this acronym too

Tallie. Then a few dots that don't lead to a size, so I'm tempted to say it was hand-written in or intentionally left blank.

I'm not an expert here, but I'm going to say these look real. The pattern matching is right on the money and the tags don't look off as far as I can tell. But better to hold out for a more authoritative voice if you are looking to sell.

Damn they made so much mistakes lol 'westen' and then 'tallie'... and in two different languages!

Awesome find though, I'm pretty sure it's a football jersey. Football is so popular in Belgium...

I almost forgot, I had THIS magnificent bastard waiting for me when I got home. Big shout to @horse's_ass for a nice, easy transaction. I plan to wear it to a pop-up I'm selling at on the 10th, to much laughter and derision.

The first two seasons were amazing -- yet I couldn't get anyone to watch it 'til I explained it had the same show-runner as True Detective.

(Also, did you see that dude in Robocop? laugh.gif )
