everytime I see your pictures. If you try to sell that Hermes suit (or any of those SR suits) on eBay with those pictures, you're not going to get what you could with better pictures. Seriously, get a halfway decent Point & Shoot (or borrow one from a friend) and take pictures in a well lit area, preferably not on the ground outside (no matter how often you sweep up!).

First ever Kiton anything I've ever seen thrifting.

And what was that I said about not finding what you're looking for? I've been after a shawl collar cardigan:

The good news: white tags were 50% off.

I almost went to where I'm assuming you got that Kiton this morning >_> and talked myself out of it because mondays suck.

Geez! A Kiton at 50% off the thrift price and to find what you were looking for at a thrift!? Amazing luck. Great finds, Alan!

That would depend upon what size you are.

Seriously, in the last few weeks it feels like every guy in Dallas has suddenly discovered thrifting. Not to mention the eBay sharks have smelled chum in the water and are feeding: I've seen two seperate instances of pros cleaning out a men's department in the last couple of months.

Still, you guys have inspired me to make the rounds. Term paper due Thursday vs. thrifting...

They're short pudgy Spanish foreign exchange students. They're at least half a foot shorter and much rounder.

AlanC: Congratulations on the Kiton! Nice score. Re my photo quality: I am having my friend, who is about to finish up her art degree specializing in photography, take photos of all the suits/jackets. I hope that's sufficient. Edit: And she knows enough about clothes that when I showed her the jackets, the first thing she started to do was look for what was handwork and what was done by machine.

Inspired by this thread, I went to Buffalo Exchange this afternoon. Ratty looking Polo sweaters marked at $35. Who buys this stuff?

I asked recently concerning Hermès, but the same applies to Kiton -- when will I ever find anything that's not a necktie? And 100% cashmere? GET OUT OF HERE!!!

Congratulations, AlanC - you deserve it.

^Ha ha, thanks. I saw the 'cashmere' and got excited, when I saw 'Kiton' I almost fell over. Then I remembered, 'okay, what's wrong with it?' It seems perfect.

Believe me, every time I see the Kitons, Hermes, you name it, in this thread I keep wondering if it will ever come my way. I've found my share of great stuff. I have no room to complain. But everyone longs for the home run.

Wow there's some awesome finds in here. I've ventured into 3 goodwills this week and found nothing worth buying.

I don't know of any other thrift stores besides goodwill in the area. CT/MA border.

What are some names too look for when thrifting? Maybe there could be a Thrifting FAQ/Starter Guide for us beginners?

I've gone months without finding much of interest. Don't forget, for every 'homerun' post you see here, there are 100s of strikeouts. It's all about dedication.

THIS

If I had a dollar for every time I've left a thrift store empty handed, I could probably order some Kiton MTM
