No prob, buddy! Glad to be of service! I'm actually thinking of changing my handle into Jeansproxyguy.

What?! You mean to tell me you don't look like the guy in the avatar!? Where's your helmet?

During lunch I went to a local spot that I check out regularly even though they are priced very high (featured in my previous rants). I started getting frustrated because the racks were so jam packed that you could barely part the shirts enough to see the labels. I checked 1 rack of shirts and moved on to the suits. I passed up the usual items that are nice but just too pricey, and found a lovely BB navy blazer in a unique material (pics to come) that I know I have passed up at least a half dozen times because of price, but the tag is missing this time. From my experience this is almost always a good thing, especially in this store because every single item is individually priced. I grabbed it and moved to the ties and found a t PINK, then moved to the other rack of shirts. About 3/4 the way down I find a nice Ermenegildo Zegna, grab it, and there's another next to it, and another, and another...someone cleaned out their closet. 13 in total, all with dry cleaning tags. Left 4 behind that were ugly with damaged buttons. The rest are pretty ace. They gave me the blazer with the missing price tag for about 65% off the original price, based on my estimate. The shirts were not standard GW prices, so I went for a reasonable bulk discount and she politely obliged, which took about 20% off the total of the shirts.

Pics or it didn't happen!

On the way back from a doc's appointment, I stopped in a regular haunt. As I went through the same stuff I've looked at over and over, some shimmering blue Loro Piana goodness drew my eye.

I think if something fits this well, you have to rock it. The question really is, where do you rock that to?
Let me preface this by saying, outside from getting an invitation for an afternoon of pheasant hunting in the country, this jacket will probably never get worn. However, I thought it was cool enough to merit it's own post.

Stepped out for lunch and dropped in at two small thrift stores near my office in Bethesda. Found this sports coat at the second one:
I was tempted to take a picture of the receipt, too: $5.

This day keeps getting better and better. Wait -- I forgot about the stock market. Nevermind.

you sure that's not an orphan? an AC suit in that same material was at a thrift near me for a few months but it was unvented and had lots of pulls.

Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words, it does fit really well, it's just so outrageous that I don't see myself in any situation that would warrant the wearing of such a garment. Still......

Wear it when you would be outside in the Fall. Apple picking, flea markets, sporting events that don't require a "go team" look... It looks good.

Good question, hadn't thought about it. The material is a rather coarse wool/cotton brown twill and it's much easier for me to imagine it as a SC instead of a suit.

Here's the tag; would there be any clues in it?

I found a couple of things today. Not pictured is the RL Polo OCBD for my 6 year that thinks my ties are now "our" ties. There was a another RL Polo contrast cutaway collar with french cuffs that I may pick up for him. Size 6T it was a pretty crazy shirt for a 6 yo. If any of you bankers want your kid decked out get at me.

Has a drop, so I would say orphan.
