Member Despos made this.

Jacket needs next-to-nothing, pants alittle snug in the waist, (gotta loose that 5lbs!) and the length taken up an inch or so.

Classic cut, gorgeous fabric of deep navy/lighter blue houndstooth-like design.

Buttons are deep navy with light-blue marbleing not like in the picture.

Salute!

Mr. Despos, I will wear it proudly.

Nice Hermes. I bet you could flip those Brionis no matter how ugly they are. I've been able to sell some pretty ugly big name ties.

First up is a pair of Allen Edmonds that fit my foot like a glove. The only thing that they could use is maybe a good polish to get rid of some scuffs on the back.

The AEs happened to be the first thing that I even looked at in the store, so I thought it was going to be a good day. Unfortunately, I looked and looked and couldn't find anything else... until I came across 43T Oxxford SC that is in immaculate shape, with the exception of a few loose threads on the right shoulder and sleeve. It's too big for me, but I'll be putting it on B/S as soon as I take measurements.

What I found interesting is that the lapel buttonhole had been sealed, despite a thread on the lapel to hold in flowers.

And lastly a Hardy Amies knit tie

Oh, I also picked up a first edition hard cover of Orson Scott Card's Children of the Mind for 2 bucks. Edit: Forgot to mention that I also picked up a pair of Levis 514. I've been looking for 510s, but no luck. The only reason I bought these is because they were 4 dollars and 32x30, and I've been wanting to see if I'm down to a 32 from 34 now (they don't let you try them on in the store). I am, so now I know what to get.

I hadn't heard of Roberto Serafini before, but I've handled literally thousands of ties, and this Serafini is definitely in the top tier - every bit as substantial as the T&A ties (probably came from the same benefactor) -- on par with Marinella and the best of them. Ok, then I must admit... this was one of my best days ever. I swore out loud when I saw the Black Fleece logo! (And some guy looked over at me to see what was up with the crazy man swearing at the sport coats) and then right next to it -- another Black Fleece!!! I'm not even sure if these have ever been worn... As soon as I found the two BBBFs, I walked quickly up to the cash register, paid my $24, went out to my car and locked them safely in my car, then went back in the store and resumed shopping.

I'm embarrassed to post after that! Jinda, that's a great year, nevermind an OK day.

Oh well. The winter coats are starting to come out around here and I picked up a couple of very nice vintage overcoats. Neither is a big name maker, but both are very good quality. One is a black, canvassed, 100% cashmere that measures 23" across the chest. There is a tiny damage spot on one of the sleeves. Its not a hole, just a 1/4" by 1/16" area where the cashmere "fuzz" is missing.

The other is a 100% wool, grey/black herring bone that also measures 46" across the chest. Its tagged a 39 and is immaculate.

They'll be going up on the B&S forum in a few days so if anyone has any interest, let me know and I'll send pictures.
