Unique names would be dope!  Something a bit different than the norm!

All jokes aside, I'm quite partial to "old fashioned" names. I liked Edwin, Roy, Stanley, Russell, Everett, Allen, etc. My wife didn't particularly agree with a lot of them that I liked, but we both agreed not to go with a newer "trendy" name. We're pretty set on Paul. It's a family name from my father's side of the family and we both really like it.

For some reason the names Elijah, Malaki, or Isaia are on paper at this point...

Other than that, we really want a name that starts with an "M" as the rest of us (wife, I, child) start with that letter.

There was a urologist here for years named Dick Tapper. Swear to God. He retired though and now Dr. Wang is seeing his patients.

Ditto this re: family names - figured there would be some amusing suggestions (Spoo for the win); I've got a middle name that is the same as my father's, grandfather's, great-grandfather's, and before that was the maiden name of my great-great-grandmother.  So the OP isn't relegated to standard naming conventions - old family surnames can now be first or middle names.

Same here, my middle name is my father's first name.  My son's middle name is my first name.  It made that component of the name choosing pretty easy.

I love it when I find numismatic items at thrift shops.  Some people really hang onto those auction catalogs.  I like them for nice closeups of rarities to identify/confirm die marks for genuine coins versus fakes.

My wife and I went out tonight to celebrate our 15th anniversary.  Lots of fun getting gussied up and hitting the town.  What was even more fun was that each of our outfits (minus jewelry) was under $40.

Me:

Ermenegildo Zegna Su Misura Tuxedo

Brioni Bowtie / Cummerbund / Pocket square

Turnbull & Asser tux shirt

Trafalgar suspenders (not pictured)

Johnston & Murphy Aristocrat vintage NOS formal shoes (not pictured)

Nomos Ludwig wristwatch (not pictured)

I had a professor in college (philosophy, of course) named Dick Cocks. https://www.lemoyne.edu/UNDERGRADUATE/Philosophy/Faculty/tabid/768/Default.aspx He went by Dick, I swear.

Also, an oral surgeon I saw as a kid for TMJ was Dr. Payne.

So as some of you know, I am expecting a baby boy to be born in about 2 months!! :slayer:

Unsolicited advice: Adjust to sleeping four hours a night now. It will help you for the first few weeks (at least I hope it's just the first few weeks). Also, practice being understanding, patient and caring for a person who sobs for no reason at all. We're three and a half weeks in, and the sobbing has stopped, but the sleep has not returned.'

Edit: Ah, second baby. So you know.

Oh, and for a name:

Brodeetz
