Pics of the previously mentioned A-Man Hing Cheong shirts I picked up last week (Corneliani sport coat is at the cleaners), as well as some Hilditch & Keys I scored yesterday....

Yesterday afternoon, I found a Ermenegildo Zegna shirt at Goodwill and at SA.

The one at the SA, was a little frayed at the collar, so I passed.

The one at goodwill still looked new and was a blue paid pattern for $5. However, the size was too small.

I don't remember the exact size. I wear a 16.5/34, but I think the shirt was 15/33 or 16/33.

A British country coat in quilted fabric with a corduroy collar, in black.

Looks like this: I am not the Sartorialist's photo subject, alas.

Made in Scotland.

Fits well.

I've posted these in the trading post, but it doesn't look like that thread is getting many visits these days. If there's no trade interest, I'll put them in B&S in a couple of days. Both are all wool, the brown plaid is a heavy flannel and perfect for fall winter wear. The other is lighter and suitable for year round wear. You might not go to it on the hottest of days. http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...&postcount=372

In addition to the seven Brioni jackets we found two weeks ago (all double-breasted, some unvented, some double-vented), my brother and I just grabbed two more: both single-breasted, double-vented in mint condition...except for the wrinkles. The silvery grey herringbone with pink and violet windowpane (a 41R) is the lighter weight of the two, 80/20 cashmere and silk; the brown with grey and burgundy (also a windowpane, or subtle plaid, really), a 42R, is all cashmere, like wearing a cloud.

Both jackets are just astonishing!

In addition, we snagged three shirts, two Brionis, one Bamford & Son, excellent condition except for the laundry marks, a great Glove Shop/Rome tie, and a NWT Abboud cashmere scarf, made in Germany.

But, in the last couple of weeks, nine Brioni sportcoats! I'm flabbergasted. Somewhere, up on Mount Thriftolympus, the gods are smiling.

Two of the shirts fit me, one him. The grey jacket might work for me with alterations--since it's for Summer, I have time to think about it. The latter jacket is a 42R, too big for either of us, so it might appear on B&S.

Forgive the photos, the urge to post overcame the poor late afternoon light...

Thanks! I forgot to mention that the two jackets were $12.99, the shirts $6.99, and a completely different store, in a different town, from the earlier seven Brionis.

Not much today. Just a Loro Piana shirt in a very soft cotton fabric. Perfect fit, excellent condition, $4.

Been busy lately so haven't posted in a while but have made some good finds. A mainline Zileri suit, a Zegna sportcoat, 2 Canali SC, a Brioni ecru dress shirt, and a 100% cashmere Harry Rosen sweater. All great fits. Stopped in at a Goodwill on saturday and found a Giorgio Armani tux, perfect fit, looks like it may have never been worn. It's older, with the white label "Giorgio Armani, made in Italy" in black which I think predates the Collezioni stuff but is a classic double breasted design. I don't know where I'll ever wear a tux but for $15.00 I couldn't pass it up. I guess I'll have to start hanging with a more "Black Tie" type of crowd. I'm sure I'll spend several times what I paid for the tux on a proper shirt, studs etc.

Also, my Love/Hate relationship with Value Village continues. A couple months ago I saw my first $100 suit. It was a black Hugo Boss so I didn't think too much about it. A couple weeks later I saw a nice, recent but otherwise unremarkable Harry Rosen gray pinstripe for $149 at a different one. A couple weeks after that I saw a navy blue 30 year old no name piece of crap for $159 at a third Value Village. I nearly walked out. Good thing I didn't because 3 hangers further along I found this:

NWOT Caruso Sartorio Parma wool/cashmere, patch pockets, surgeons cuffs. A perfect fit and only $9.99. I guess we just have to treat their ignorance and seemingly random pricing as part of the fun of thrifting!
