Do brown plastic buttons on a gray jacket point towards blazer or orphan? Thanks!

Going to NYc in april. What thrift/ consignment stores should I hit?

Google maps should help. I doubt anyone will give up any good spots to a new poster.

Though in all seriousness, the best NYC area thrift I've hit is the Bronx Unique at 218 W 234th street - you can get there quite easily on the 1 train from 42nd street Times Square:

That's thrift prices alright, and I might say possibly one of the most valuable items I've seen thrifted here. Dude you make my head spin. Oh, and the pics look like its fine although the one of the Hermes on the side of the buckle is hard to see, but if its engraved not stamped then you're ok. Not that you need my endorsement.

Jeeeeeeeez.  I was just looking at these on the bay last night because I really want one.  I would love a quick "spot the fake" rundown on these.

Not that I'm the resident expert but as I said, the Hermes on the buckle should be engraved not stamped. You can tell if there is a square indentation or mark around the Hermes then its stamped. Also, the manager of the Hermes store told me that they don't come with authentication cards so that should knock out most of the e-bay listings for new ones. Besides they don't go on sale much if at all, so people who are selling them for 350 or something like that are most likely selling fakes, whether they know it or not. My advice is that you would do yourself a favor not to buy one on e-bay if you want a real one. Unless you're getting a croc Hermes belt from eddie.....

I don't know the etiquette on this but what were the prices on your discount store pieces? Curious to see how they compare to my Marshalls and such
