All right, here's my haul from this weekends thrift bender. There was a lot of stuff to be found in the 14 stores we hit, so I had to restrain myself a bit.
First up, some ties, a cool ancient madderish from Leonardo Ptrelli, slim, N/A

I picked up this one simply for the cool patteren, and actually it has a very nice hand, from Fil a Fil Paris, N/A

Elephant print from Paul Stuart, first one of his ties I've seen

Hand rolled silk scarf for the wife (I don't know how many more of these I can give her)

BB Golden Fleece hounds-tooth plaid long sleeve polo, size XL, available.

BB shirt for myself, PRL ocbds for my wife and myself.

Paul Stuart for myself, N/A

Hawes and Curtis Jermyn Street shirt, I seem to remember seeing something on here about them, first one I've found though. 17/34 available.

Thomas Pink made in Ireland, size M, available.

Brioni in desperate need of "the treatment" size 16, available.

Willis & Geiger anorak. I picked this up only to give it a shot on ebay as there stuff seems to go for astronomical prices. This thing is a beast, albeit a ugly one. Lots of cool features though, tons of pockets, zippers, neck latch, fully quilted, hood, etc.

The sickest BB piece I've ever found. 100% camel hair, 2 button single vented, gray with a red over check. Some one get at me on this one because I'm really heart broken it doesn't fit. Size 44 long, available.

This one crushes me as I've been looking for a navy DB to add to the stable. Barny's fully canvassed and fit nearly perfectly. Unfortunately, looking at the photos, it looks to have a lot of dry-cleaning sheen to it. It really isn't that noticeable in person, as both pnutpug and my self missed it, not the same kind of shine you would find on something like a super 120's suit. This is more of dense weave. I know this is a long shot but is there any way to get rid of this? Again the photo makes it look a lot worse than it is in person....still, I'll know it's there.

Brioni navy blazer with Brioni buttons and a cool crimson lining that has polo players all over it, un-vented. :brick: but cool non the less. Size 44R, available.

This thing is simply put, ****! The first complete suit I've found that fits like a glove, usually the pant's have some insane rise or fit like trash bags, not these, slim, cuffed and flat front, the jacket is cut slim with narrow lapels and a soft shoulder, double vented, 2 button half lined and fully canvassed, made in the USA by campus and look to be worn once or twice! And did I mention that IT'S ******* PLAID!!!!! Expect a fit pic in this soon. The thrift god's smiled upon me that day.

And then this happened:

Even the tag is bad-ass, I can't wait for cooler weather to bust this mufucka out! I missing the belt and the ties in the back but to be honest I'd probably have taken them out myself anyways.

By the way, I know the Campus suit isn't a Kiton or anything but that old trad stuff get's my rocks off, also that Schott looks to be unworn, pnutpug can back me up on this. It is not broken in AT ALL! I'm guessing from the tag that it's from the 70's but maybe some of you gents who are more knowledgeable about these things can school me on that.

Perhaps the nicest HF suit I have come across. Staple Navy Blue Pin stripe. LP 120s fabric, pick stitched and beautiful.

The only sad part is that it will not likely work for anyone in this thread. 52 X-long

Ah, Wes, it will take a big, big, big man to fill out that HF Loro Piana Tasmanian Super 120.

Too bad, because I love the fabric and stitching on that thing, alas.

Thanks to everyone for help w/ the art. I guess its going up on the wall... for now. Can anyone knowledgable in those things point me in the right direction of a good art auction/want to help me move it. For the record, it was $60.

If you are heartbroken over this, there is probably something similar coming down the pipeline... but newer and in a size acceptable to normal humans.
PS Eazy, that pic is ******* awesome.

Just to torture myself, last night I stopped into a Sally that recently reopened near me. Definitely has promise. Prices are certainly right.

I ended up walking out with a Paul Smith Sportswear powder blue fall weight sport coat (unvented unfortunately). I also grabbed a kid size (no, really; way too small for our favorite new jerseyan) very recent Brooks brothers bue blazer with logo buttons and Loro piana wool, patch pockets, single vent. All for less than lunch money. My nephew is already rocking the blazer.

Then I got the smith home and measured it: 20.5" shoulders, 21 pit, 18 waist and length of 29 (all approx). Looks very kooky on me. Hopefully that works for someone here or on eBay.

(btw, doing this on a borrowed iPad. All y'all who say macs are better, I have one word for you: mothererfingspellcheck! (and yes that's one word))

I have a lot of finds from awhile back that I haven't shared due to moving and all, but I found this today in my first Goodwill stop in ages. Pretty major rare grail find for me, and staying so hard in my closet it'll make your head spin!

I have not read anything since page 394 (in 100-post view) so I have no idea what the current topic of conversation is, but I trust this will be relevant. ;)

You should make a killing on it regardless, but I wonder if more profit could be made if you waited till cooler weather set in.

NWT old stock Zegna Cashmere SC, unvented
confused.gif
. Has Zegna ever created anything single vented? Its like they skipped the era of single vents and went straight to side-vents.

Armani Collezioni suit that I determined to be "barely" recent enough to pick up. Also unvented

The two most bad to the bone double breasted suits I've ever come across. Both side vented and pretty recent. They were made for someone that's built like a brick shithouse.

The first is by far the nicest HF I've seen. Awesome fabric and what not. I was devastated when I noticed the torn elbow when I got home.

The second has no serious damage, but 3 broken sleeve buttons. I'm sure they will be a pain ********** to replace.

Not pictured are 3 super recent suits from the same donor. None of them can be more than 3 years old. #1 is a Hugo Boss pasolini/movie with the current fabric tags, #2 is Zegna fabric with unknown maker, and #3 is a Hickey Freeman with the current label. All three of them are torn to **** at the hem of the pants from the dude stepping on them. I don't want to talk about the feelings this gives me

All right Chilluns, SC/Suit time. I didn't find the best stuff i've ever found quality wise yesterday, but I found a TON of stuff I can make good $$ on, and a lot of firsts. All suit pants are pleated unless stated otherwise, all suits unless SC specifically stated.
Bergdorf Goodman House brand 48/42 Lish 33' BOC Unvented, but pick stitched from your nostril to nutsack.

This is the bottom of the front, sweeet. Can someone PLEASE ID this for me, andor who knows who makes BG house brand?

HF Sportcoat 44L 100%lambswool, boardroom cut single vent.

HF 42L mainline w/ suspenders, back vent, glenplaid with red/gold .

HF 44R canterbury back vent

VTG BB Shawl Collar Tux anyone? 42L 37' pants FF back vent (everything you could ask for basically) What is the deal with brooks blend?

Custom Linen SC I got for myself in STL, floating canvas and all that.

Burberry Prorsum
devil.gif
40/42 R/S 30.5 ' BOC Unvented. multi-colored houndstooth plaid? Fabric is muuuuch better than most of the Burberry's i've run across so figured someone here might like it, if not on to the bay.

Navy HF suit. Unvented unfortunately... otherwise it would be perfect. 23' p2p 32.5 BOC Unvented Is this the newest, or second newest tag? I can't remember.

Recent ish? HF +progeny vented, LP 100's, cool color/pattern. 22' p2p 30.5' BOC
