The official thrift/discount store bragging thread

Some fairly recent stuff that hasn't made it to eBay or B&S. All available.

Hilditch and Key Royal Oxford (FC) for Sak's. 17.5/32



Ships (Japan) button down. Tagged L, but for Japanese market so closer to a M. Ships is a baller trad shop in (I believe) Tokyo.



Brooks Bothers Makers shirt. Blue label, made in USA. 14.5/32 (FC).



Canali button down. 15.75/40



NWOT Corneliani Polo. Tagged a 50, but fits closer to a true small. Made in Italy



Also, distinct from the group of pictures above, check out these Imperials I found last week. Mid restore. Original soles, v-cleat.

Man this thread moves fast! My finds from the past week of thrift and consignment shop visits aren't nearly as good as others', but I'll go ahead and 'brag' anyway.

First off, I picked up a Marzotto Lab navy SC, 50% silk 50% Piacenza cashmere. It's tagged 44L, too big for me, but I thought I'd offer it to someone here as I think it's a nice jacket. If there's no interest, I'll return it for an exchange. I can provide pics and measurements if anyone wants.

Also picked up the following stuff that I'm keeping:

- NWT Richard James waxed cotton jacket

- Ermenegildo Zegna shirt

- Paul Smith London suit

- Arnold Brant (so-so Canadian maker) brown SC made from 100% Loro Piana cashmere

- Trousers that fit... upon closer inspection turned out to be Gucci

- Harry Rosen Sartoria MTM shirt (not sure if this is widely known, but one of the Value Villages in the GTA has a bunch of these and they appear to be all new. If anyone's interested, I'll let you know where it is via PM)

- Moderately crazy Etro shirt

- NWT PRL trousers... nothing special but they fit and were $12 taxes in, so yay.

^^^ Cool milmil. Older? Mid or late 90's / early 00's? I came up with a MTM milmil navy blazer / sportcoat dated 2009 and the tag is different.

It's double vented, but it does look like an older label. I would guess/hope early '00's.

Lovely Turnbull & Asser "Sea Island Quality" shirt, fabric has a beautiful hand. Absolutely no signs of wear. Only £5

Unfortunately WAY to large for me so gifted it to my father.

In all seriousness why are you posting this stuff if you're not keeping it or offering it up to guys here first? Not sure what you paid for it, but if you're paying $15 - $30, and could move something like this easy for $75 - $200 shipped. You and cut out the middle man and recoup your money quicker.

If that is a 56 there are a dozen guys that would be all over that suit (myself included) if it measured out right.

because it's a helluva lot easier to just throw all the stuff into one huge box and ship it off once a month to somebody that will do all the hard work for you. especially if you're living in a dorm with no space and no post office within walking distance!

Most colleges have a mail center that will ship UPS, Fedex, and USPS no problem. Schools get 100's of packages a day and if you have a dorm room you also have a mail box. I use to flip smart phones (back in the day before everyone had one and would have boxes of 20 or 30 of them in my dorm) and it would sometimes be cheaper to ship UPS 2-Day then USPS Priority Mail due to the shipping discount the school had.

I have ~200 items to ship him. I don't have the time to sell any of it. Between schoolwork, thrifting, and time with the girlfriend, I have absolutely no time. Also, he has a lot more expertise at selling than me. I tried to sell a few items on ebay, and had very poor results. I've been watching his ebay listings, and they do well, and his pictures/descriptions are excellent. In any case, I'm bringing in about 150 items per month, and have an eBay category selling limit of 25 per month... and it's surprisingly slow/difficult to sell in the B&S.

I post the stuff because this is a bragging thread. I honestly do this more for the treasure hunt, and enjoyment of posting on here, than the money. That said, I'm a broke college student, and have invested my savings into this, so I need the money too.

Hard work? The item is found and the pictures are taken. The majority of the work is done. Hell if I was still in college I would have had a nice business doing this.

So if someone offered you $150 for that suit based on what you posted how hard is that? I get what you are doing, and we all have time constraints (fulltime job, wife/kid in my case). But to me if you are taking time to post the pictures here, give it a few hours to see if you get any bites. If not ship it off and let your partner deal with it.
