Did anyone say pants?
My first Kiton
And 6x Barbera, 2x Incotex and Filson.
Left behind Oxxford for Andover shop pants that appeared to be orphaned.
They are all 36x32. I'd have to lose about 20 lbs to fit comfortably, so I'm open to offers and would prefer to move as a lot.
More pics to come.
O

Yeez, I'd be all over this if the shipping would smack me in the face. Those purple windowpane Inco's... Holy pantaloon-god!!! :worship2:

Fight you for it? Or should we just do a three-way? I NEED dibs on those tan flat fronts. And blue. And black. And the Kiton. :paranoia:

I think my original post got left behind waiting for moderation while contra codes were being discussed

[Regarding the RLPL Cashmere overcoat...] All my questions still stand, too, if anyone would be kind enough to help.

I was asked for measurements via PM, but I'm ashamed to say that I don't own a tape measure (cart before the horse, I know). Using a trusty 30cm ruler, however, it seems to be:

23" armpit to armpit
22" sleeve to shoulder
23" shoulder to shoulder.

But if anything sounds horribly wrong about that it's probably my inept measurements.

I'd happily sell/trade it here, but I think the cost of shipping to the US (UK here) would make that kind of pointless- this thing is big!

However, if anyone thinks it's actually worthwhile to do so I'd be happy to, or else I'll try ebay...

Hello everyone! After skulking around Styleforum (and this thread) for a few weeks now, I thought I should probably sign up. With the help of the great advice given here I've gone from absolutely clueless to only generally clueless in about a month, so thanks!

I've tried to concertedly peruse my local charity shops (I'm from the UK; no competition!) for a couple of weeks now, and hoped to start with something of a bang, so I humbly submit...

Now I've not been doing this very long, but a RLPL 100% Cashmere overcoat is pretty good, right?

I do have some questions to ask of your immense collective expertise though:

-Does the 'Customer' number mean it's bespoke, made to measure, or just a standard thing?

-Why does it refer to a jacket and trousers, when it's plainly an overcoat? Part of a set?

-Does anyone know anything about this particular model, labelled 'Paddock'?

Sorry for the general cluelessness...

Now for the downside: the condition isn't great.

As you can see, the lining is badly coming away from the outer at the bottom of the coat and top of the vent, the armpit is badly worn and there are a few little nicks like the one shown there.

Now this a 44 coat, and I take 36, so I only got it to actually see something high quality up close. I therefore suppose that I'll either try to resell it or return it to the shop...

So yet more beginners questions, but...

-Could the damage be fixed?
-Does it completely destroy the value of the coat?

Many thanks, and hi again!

At the same time I picked up a couple of less fancy, but more useful shirts:

TM Lewin- nothing special there, but it's 34". The only 34" shirt I've found, and it fits great.

Eton, with nice wide MOP buttons.

Plus a few ties from ebay- From left to right: 2x Zegna, 2x Thomas Pink, 2x Turnbull & Asser

(Apologies for crappy photos).

interesting...

I'm going to try them again in a bit now that my feet aren't swollen from walking all day, and with thinner socks. I will let you know if I decide to let them go.

DIBS! :bounce2: (are the 46 US or IT)?

Don't worry - the 36 I had in mind for you anyway. Oxxford is a true 46.

You could try stretching them, or take to a cobbler to have them stretched? Heard about it, never tried it though.

I'm going to exhaust all possibilities before I give them up. They're one of the items I spent a lot of money on (in relation to thrift prices) so even if I were to sell here, it would have to be for a lot more than one would expect. I'll probably be labeled a gouger.

Maybe interested in all of the above depending on 1) photos of the tie & tag, 2) pit to pit on that sport coat, and 3) how much filthy lucre you want for that briefcase - I've been looking for something like that for ~2 years and never seen anything like it! Pics! :D

Pics below. I may be keeping the case. At least for a while - it needs some work and I like a project!

i would LOVE to be able to get into that man's pants.

If I had a nickle for every time I heard that...

EDIT:

All length measurements are BOC. Forgot to mention. Also, the HF I mentioned yesterday is a 38S, not a 36.

Does anyone know anything about "Antonio Basile, Le Collezioni"? I found a black overcoat, but it was cotton and priced high, so I left it behind. I've looked on ebay, and can't find much of anything, same thing with google.

Also left behind a Ravazzolo sport coat. I didn't know enough about it, but it seemed very nice. Fabric was wool/silk/cashmere. It was double breasted, had peak lapels, and was unvented, so I decided to leave it.

There were a lot of things that I passed on today that were awesome, but the prices were relatively inflated so I passed. Therefore, I only picked up these two worthy items.

Allen Edmonds Stoughton 7.5D

Vintage Burberry 100% Loro Piana Cashmere Blazer, Around a 48R-L

On another note, there was a Ferrari California and a Bugatti parked in front of the thrift store!

Pics?? With the caption "How the 1% stay the 1%"

There is a line of stores on the street where the thrift is located so the possibility of the cars belonging to someone in one of those other stores is entirely possible. However, it was pretty funny.

The Goodwills I go to have loading/drop off in the back, and it's a "drive up and drop off", not a "park and leave the car" situation, so I'm guessing that's why he assumed they were shopping there.

EDIT: Ah, I catch your drift...yes, if dropping off, HIT THAT STORE LIKE A MOFO IN THE COMING DAYS.

um, were they shopping there, or were they DROPPING STUFF OFF????

I don't know if they were dropping stuff off or not. It's not out of the norm to see types of cars like those in this particular area, however. I am sure they were just in another store. It was just funny to see cars like this in front of a store where the not so wealthy were buying clothing.
