It had a small hole on the left sleeve. Still worth picking up? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

How small? If it's very small and just one, yes, still. Then find a reweaver (and send me their contact info since I have yet to find one myself

) and get it worked on.

What if it is part of a suit? Worth anything then?
Yes. Go back and grab it! Also, as someone else suggested, tear the store apart looking for the pants. Thoroughly go through the men's and women's pants sections.
I can't imagine an Hermes jacket not worth picking up, even if it is a suit jacket. Someone will want it.
This. People buy it for the name. I see orphaned Kiton suit jackets selling for $125+. I'd imagine a Hermes getting the same, if not more. Also, please do the research for future items. It's very easy to simply type it into eBay, do a completed listings search and see what sold for how much.
You know, since we have members that find a closet full of Isaia coats, let me beg a proxy on something. I collect bicycles. If anyone finds a Raleigh (English made), Pinarello, Colnago, or Bianchi, I will pay you a fair, quick, and easy profit. It's been over a year since I found a good bike in thrift.
I've actually never found a nice bike. Ever. Strange, huh? I've only heard stories. One was from a friend who worked at the Salvation Army a few years after I left. He told me the donations truck (SA used to use a central processing center and truck the processed donations out to the stores) brought them a pretty recent Novara mountain bike. He was actually looking for a bike and was asking my opinion on the maker. By the time he got off the phone, the assistant manager priced it at $20 and sold it to himself...... The only other time I've heard about a nice bike is when I still worked for the Salvation Army (around 2003). The truck driver told me they were in a very wealthy neighborhood doing pick-ups and one lady pointed to a racing yellow Cannondale road bike, maybe 3 years old or so, sitting in the corner of the garage. She said her husband took a new position at work and doesn't have time to devote to biking anymore. He said when they got back to the center (which also houses the rehab center), the guys fought over it like crazy. That explains why I've probably never found a nice bike. Now that I think about it, I did score a vintage (1963?) men's black 2 speed Schwinn Racer. Not a high-end bike, but really nice and worth some decent money. It's the type where you pedal backwards to switch gears. All original (even original tires) and in amazing condition. Here's the kicker. It was $8 at a Goodwill smack dab in the Hipster district! How this thing even made it out of the back-room without someone pouncing on it is beyond me. In any case, it's made a great cruiser bike and I can't wait to get out and ride it again this summer.

Just starting to thrift things for profit. So far I've just been selling stuff from my own closet. Anyway I saw a Hermes jacket today. Three button, navy. Probably an orphaned jacket but could pass as a blazer. I did the pinch test on it and its fully canvassed. It also had pick sticking on the lapel. It was 28 dollars. Is it worth anything on ebay? About what should I ask for it if I go back and get it?

Yes, the name is enough to drive people banana's. I myself have picked up orphaned Hermes before, easy to trade or sell. Worth wise, solid navy 3 button, you could sell it for $200 - $300. If you ask for money, a gentleman like you should consider flipping it to the forum for $100 - $150. Start off with a bang and show you are a decent guy. I personally would pick it up and lob it into a trade list - screw the money, you will have trade collateral and you could make a fellow trader work his butt off to find nice things for you ;)

Post the size of the jacket / pics here, or PM me if you wish, I can direct you to a relevant trader here that would likely want it. Pics and size here though would do all the talking and hard work for you.

Dolce and Gabanna is real. Nice find. Suit is from an early - mid 00's collection - good find, should pick you up some coin if you dont keep it. Dolce never did bespoke as far as I know, lack of size tags could be that they were cut off. Highly unlikely that was knocked out for a movie / sports star..
What Klobber meant to really say was "nice find, contact Brianpore if you decide not to keep it"

If it is size 36, jump right in and claim it yours - those are good quality suits. I have owned about a dozen of them over the years, only since recently has my taste been more calibrated towards other brands.

So maybe by now you've seen my thread about the change in the dress code where I work, starting tomorrow. Black shirts only. Polo or collar. Black or khaki pants only.

I just ran back out and thrifted a JAB black Traveler in (nearly) my size. It has a monogram on the cuff that I'm picking off as I type and either dirt or significant fading on some of the the hem areas.

This pretty much kills my interest in thrifting. Maybe for SWMBO, still. I dunno. I just spent a year building/altering a wardrobe that is almost completely unusable at work, beginning tomorrow. It's retail and I've been there too long for it to make financial sense to go looking elsewhere.

I am seriously bummed.

Pretty good day for me. Shirts:

Nice BB forest green SC (right?), 85 wool/15 cashmere. 44L

I'm not sure how much I buy "limited edition"/collectible clothing, but the absolutely wild lining made this thing too good to pass up on. Also, my size, though the sleeves are surprisingly short so we'll have to see whether it's going to work for me or not after a trip from the tailor.

And the big winner of the day...Corneliani-made PRL SC. 65% camel/35% silk. Absolutely gorgeous in person, pristine condition...all the good stuff. Sorry dudes, already earmarked.

LOL@ a piece of clothing numbered like a baseball card. That's only the second non "Colours by Alexander Julian" piece I've seen. I remember scanning a member's profile on here once and it read something like " WTB: All Alexander Julian except for "Colours by", so there is someone on this forum VERY interested in that. I personally love lining like that. I have this badass otherwise normal brown houndstooth Ted Baker overcoat with super sprezz holographic viscose lining that really makes the coat.

damn that sucks. look on the bright side: now anytime someone finds brioni/isaia/kiton/oxxford/rlpl in color black, they'll know exactly who to send it to! :)

Dig,

That's a huge bummer. My brother works at Herberger's Dept. store and they have to wear all black. It looks ridiculous.

Doesn't mean you have to stop thrifiting. I feel your pain though. I'm a machinist by trade. At work, I wear dirty t-shirts and jeans. Unless I want something covered in oil, metalworking fluid (coolant), grease and grime, I don't wear it. With that said, I still enjoy the thrifting hobby and can dress as I please on my days off and the weekend.

total bummer, but you can still thrift and sell/trade for http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?Colo...nc&_dcat=57990&Sleeve%20Length=Short%20Sleeve and http://www.ebay.com/sch/Pants-/57989/i.html?_dcat=1059&Color=Blacks&_from=R40&_nkw=kiton

I'm fond of pawn shops for this quest. I recently found a C-Record/Super Record Fuso #297 in near mint condition for under 400. The Cobalto brakes alone were worth most of the purchase price. I cant ever imagine finding a bike of this rarity and condition in a thrift. I've worked at a bike shop for over 6 years now and I've come to learn that vintage bike owners know how much their stuff is worth. YMMV.
