Grats on the first etro lastdon.
Anyone have an insider at their local thrifts / GWs? Over the past two or so years I've been in so many of them often that I'm pretty cool with a lot of the workers, especially the ones my age (20-29). The other day one started talking to me about my weekend and we got into what I was grabbing and why I'm there so often and so I broke down how its like a 75 - 25 split myself and flipping. I don't think I need to worry about educating him too much (I leave CA in like three months, so if anything he'll be competition for this generation of LA thrifters), but I'm thinking about offering him 20-50 for any RLPL, BL, Kiton, Brioni etc. suits that pass through. I might just do this all across LA, sit back and wait. I wonder if they risk their jobs by doing so? I can't imagine their boss could know if they texted me lol.

Sorry I misspoke. The HF was cheap, the Burberry was priced high.

We both got that - but how high is too high? If the Burberry was $20 - $30, probably worth picking up if in decent condition. I would not pickup a Burberry London though if it was more than $30 - I would implicitly tell that thrift shop to kiss my a$$ for highway robbery.

Thanks Valium, Matt, Dig and MrDeep, it is much appreciated. Total cost was about $50, and half of that was the shoes. Dig - pants were altered, jacket always just fit that way. As to why I didn't get cuffs? I have no idea, that's a really great thought. It's nice to have a reason to put on a tie and jacket here in CA, even as an in-house lawyer (yes, I'm another one on this thread) that is a rarity. Tonight - picked up shirts by Isaia, Barbera, Brioni and a Zanella, plus two more Aquascutum rain coats and an Acquascutum tweed blazer. Pics to come.

Yeah, it was nice and $18. I usually only pick up Burberry if it is my size, good to know for the future, thanks.

I recently came across some Saucony trail shoes out thrifting with Nataku.. Miraculously they are from Spring of 2011 and have not been worn. If there is any size 9M on here they are available:

-Saucony Grid Fusion 3 Whte/Black w/ red heel.

-Saucony Grid Raider Black w/ Red trim.

-Saucony Cohesion TR 4 Dark grey/black w/ orange heel.

-Saucony Ignition 2 Grey/Black.

They are all Sample shoes and never seen wear. I saw the same ones at REI for $75-120. Kinda cool to get them for $10 a piece.

Also, from Saks off fifith a while ago I splurged on Brioni Light Blue w/ white stripe 75% linen 25% cotton Size large (x2) retail tag says $435. Got them for $30 a piece :D (Available)

(Sorta thrift related

Shirts! All (except the Brioni which I am probably keeping) are marked "M" or 16.5 and have a P2P measurement of approximately 22.5:

Isaia Orange/White Stripe with thick Black MOP (?) Buttons:

Purple Herringbone Barbera:

Blue Brioni (keeping - for now):

Black with Green Stripe 100% Linen Zanella with Black MOP Buttons:

Soft Cotton Tattersall Harvie and Hudson:

It would help if your initials were A.G.:

Two Black Aquascutum Mac/Trench Coats (one is about a 40, the other about a 44):

They both look rather similar, but check out the rad flannel liner on the larger one:

Aquascutum Tweed Blazer with Ticket Pocket (40):

On a whole different level - anyone know anything about older Banana Republic Labels? Mainly, is this"made in the British Crown Colony of Hong Kong" safari jacket old BR, or new BR made to look old:

Here's the whole thing:

Plus an APC breton stripe sweater for the Wifey and two hideous Robert Graham shirts to flip.
