In LA with my girlfriend. Saw a Henry Poole, but had moth holes and a tailor made Jil Sander for $55 if anyone is interested.

So sad.

Scored a pair of shell Florsheim Imperial longwings. Size 10.5 D. Also found a pair of Mason Executive Imperial Longwings 8.5C, not sure if they are shell. I'll post pictures once both are cleaned up because they'll be available.

Also came across some older made in the US Pendleton stuff. The one is like a varsity jacket (blue w/ grey wool sleeves) sz M. The other is an unstructured plaid jacket sz L.

snagged a pair of polo rl red soled taupe suede oxfords, looks like unworn, 20$ and a pair of ties, one unhemmed tweed with the raggy bottom (no brand) and one BR blue/yellow/red madras cotton, 6$ total.

I'm pretty happy.

It's not that I'm knocking them, I own 'em. But it's more the wading through "all" the dockers, I don't want more Dockers, I want KITON....Love to find a pair of "Bills", when I'm wading through the Dockers, I'm thinking Bills (until I'm past the kahki colors, then I want KITON)

That's the nice thing about Bill's Khakis. While none of them (even the M3's) ever fit me, they are almost sure to sell on eBay. Good quality, obviously, but nevertheless meant for somebody else.

<~~~Not a lawyer but I've been sued by one.

BTW...
Vicuna. Funny how you never hear a word all your life then suddenly, it's everywhere. The wimminz in the house were watching "Rizzoli & Isles" this morning. The Isles character walked in wearing a too tight suit and told the Rizzoli character,

"The cleaning lady put this suit in the dryer. I mean, who puts vicuna in the dryer?"

^^ This is NOT the too tight suit, BTW.

I hit one store kind of late in the day and turned up:

1x Luciano Barbera for Louis Boston pleated charcoal gray wool trousers in a 38 x 29.

1x vintage Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Label (good blue label not the crap kind) cream wool flannel trousers with forward pleats and side adjusters in a 34 x 30 1/2 or so. They even came with matching cream braces attached. (Think idle rich / Great Gatsby.)

1x vintage US Navy peacoat in a 34. I'm a 36 or a 38 and it fits me quite well. It's a keeper :)

and all the rest was vintage Trad / Ivy.

I have a pair of Polo cream flannel trousers just as you described. One day I had a migraine, took off my clothes, left them in a pile outside the shower, some water got out of the shower, I didn't pick up the clothes, the bathmat got wet, and the color ran from the bathmat into the pants.

End of pants.

C'mon, I'd figure that by now someone of your sartorial stature would have some sort of comfy boy 2k12 approved bawse bathrobe. Clothing should never enter into the swamp that is the bathroom during shower time!

I'm sorry for getting everyone excited but I think the Oxxford suits I found are all probably 52 like the Brioni suit I found. All the Oxxford tags say CTJ SPL where the size would be. Tags also say Stanley Gumberg, which upon Googling was a Pittsburgh real estate developer who died in 2009. There were also shirts there from Larrimor's in Pittsburgh. I will try to post pictures of them and my other finds from today if I can.

I think you might have missed the first part of that paragraph, which began, "I had a migraine..."

This wasn't a migraine meaning, "word people use to describe a bad headache they had one time."

This was a "tears of pain in my eyes, working hard not to vomit on myself" type situation.

I have several bawse bathrobes, but they weren't at the front of my mind.

thrifting in major cities is fairly high risk as everything including brands that suck are prices relatively high :foo:
