Amen, brotha! If you are planning to be here for the long run, respect the rules (not written down so more like common practices) and members of this community. Also, having thick skin helps, A LOT! This is a no bullshit thread! You have to consider the sources. That's the number one rule for sharing ideas in any environment. These guys work their asses off to supplement their income through flipping, and many have gotten burned by offering help. I think DeadBoy was very matter-of-fact about it without being defamatory or aggressive. Casey said what was on his mind, and that's his right. Here's my advice (not that you asked for it) on the matter. Lurk for a few weeks/months and see how this sub-community does things, then slowly get involved. This thread, and it's posters are unlike anything else on this web site. I've seen many people jumping in with both feet without doing their homework and it gets them similar responses to Casey's. There are thousands of pages to read though, so I suggest you grab your favorite chair, beverage, and lounging attire, as you're going to be reading for a long time. It's a time investment with so much upside I can't tell you. You are going to learn a metric ton of things that will help you with your thrifting, whether you flip or thrift for yourself (which is what I do).
Get your learn on first, ask questions to fill in the gaps. It will garner a lot of respect with the other members who've invested a ton of time and energy into this thread. It means you're not out to sponge, but to contribute.
My advice? Make sure to put some cushion on your chair. Make sure your beverage of choice is either caffeinated or alcoholic. Lounging attire: birthday suit with tighty whities. When your vision gets blurry, console your optometrist for a pair of prescription glasses. Don't be an eager noob that your first post is a Christian Dior tie (who me?)...
