Amen, brotha! If you are planning to be here for the long run, respect the rules (not written down so more like common practices) and members of this community. Also, having thick skin helps, A LOT! This is a no bullshit thread! Lol, ok, some bullshit permits like our favorite derail topics: gun control debates, our favorite waffle house, haunted thrift pieces, Klobber's poop shoots which we welcome it with open arms (that sounded weird), and other leftist vs. rightest topics. Topics like these actually make things a bit interesting.

My advice? Make sure to put some cushion on your chair. Make sure your beverage of choice is either caffeinated or alcoholic. Lounging attire: birthday suit with tighty whities. When your vision gets blurry, console your optometrist for a pair of prescription glasses. Don't be an eager noob that your first post is a Christian Dior tie (who me?)...

I remember a few months back, folks were talking about Locaste. A member told a story that for his middle school portrait, he cut out a Locaste alligator and sewn it upside under an existing one on a polo to make it look like they were humping. The administrators didn't notice. He had a pic to prove it. We got a kick out of it. I'm assuming this is a made in USA one? From the make tag it looks to be the older ones. PRL were made in their own US factories from 70's to 90's until Corn. picked up the invoice. Just yesterday, Orgetorix posted the union make tags to their corresponding years.

maybe i was a bit too harsh, so welcome to the thread. It's just that finding the eBay value of an item is relatively easy to do, and I'd rather hear about your impressive feats of thrifting anyway. My contribution - somehow this tweed Southwick jacket went unnoticed until 30 minutes ago, when I bought it off the 99 cent rack.

they sent an email about 30 minutes ago. Just got off the phone it wasn't a big hassle at all, and they gave me a $20 credit so not too bad. Just wish there was something in my size left to buy with it lol

Re: sizing, I am a bigger dude myself, so it's not weird for me. haha. I've found that odd sizes do really well online. People who can't just walk into a store a purchase something of the shelf resort to places like ebay or etsy.

Popped my Charvet shirt cherry today. Body of the shirt was like mint, but the cuffs and collar are blasted to hell. I'll see what they want to put a fresh collar and cuffs on, and I'll flip with the notice that that's what it is.

Also, my e-thrifted Canali in my size arrived. It's olive (so not a wardrobe staple) and a 3-roll-2, but I finally have a nice, wearable suit in my size that isn't JOS.

Re: ebay

I know that most people flip here, but I'm perfectly happy keeping those conversations out of the thread. I'm also happy with side discussions, even when I'm not a part of them. I get entertainment value out of it and occasionally learn something from it.

What does annoy me to a degree are people that just jump in the middle of things and think nothing of it. There is obviously precedent set in the way in which things are handled, whether it's blatant sales or flipping advice. When you have 1 post and demand information or are violating these rules, everyone jumps on it. Then, said poster gets upset at the "irrational" responses. Guess what? Lots of people here break the rules. I know I (and many others) have. We'll slyly ask about value or whether it's the "right" label, quickly brag about our ebay sale or ask if our find was "worth" it. These people aren't yelled at immediately. What's the difference? They have credibility. They're helping others out by passing along info, offering critiques, trading things, etc. All of that goes a long way here whether we like to admit it or not.

It's sort of like the government of a small town. Do you often volunteer to set up the big tent for the town festival? Do you shovel your neighbor's walk when it snows? Well, in that case, I'll look the other way when you don't get a permit to build your new fence.

Like I said, I'm not singling out any particular new members or veterans. I don't mind if you guys talk about things that don't interest me. However, I'm happy to avoid discussing certain topics like ebay or at least using the spoiler for things that aren't pertinent to the thread.
