Levis new 501 is not slim enough, but Japanese Levi's limited 501(08501-0125) is slim enough to please me. The cons are it seems somewhat lightweight, it comes 32 inseam, I can't find an oversea retailer here.

I just set up a pair of 501 STF's in a hot soak. I hope the length turns out ok. Actually, the waist will be too tight as I originally bought them when I was "in shape." My waistline has since, ahem, expanded since then. Soaked 'em to give me the incentive to get in shape so I can fit into them again.

Hope springs eternal.

Went to Modell's yesterday and picked up a pair of the standard rigid 501 STFs for $25. Did the whole warm-soak-in-the-bathtub thing and now they fit almost perfectly. Looking forward to seeing how these turn out.

Indigo 501's fit great. Not too tight, not too loose. Length seems to be right. I think. And after a two and a half hour soak, very littie indigo loss. Now if only I could drop the 15 pounds of lardazzo from my midsection.

I got the new "Knight" STFs and just soaked them. Bought them TTS and was a bit apprehensive - they came out excellent. Hem is 7.25", which is unbelievable considering my 501's from last year are 8.5" at the hem after 3 washes! HIGHLY recommended for a slim straight fit under $100. For now, here's a pre soak (worn for 10 minutes) pic of the great color:

psa--kohls has the knight and the standard indigo STFs in multiple sizes for cheap

$37 + $1/item shipping
20% off code GR8THINGS

works out to about $30/pair--you really can't go wrong

@Coal_Mining_Polak--yours seem to have shrunk more than most. do you notice a difference in the denim other than color? also, would you mind posting a waist and front/back rise measurment?

They still are drying so no fit pics at the moment. I just hot (not scalding) soaked them in the bathtub for 20 minutes or so and wore them out to dry a bit. I didn't notice anything atypical in regards to the denim. Hem is actually 7.5", still very happy with that result, I bought size 30x30.

Post-soak

Waist - 15.45" across (still a tiny bit big)
Back Rise - 14"
Front Rise - 11"

So Iv'e had my 501 STFs for a few weeks and I've hot soaked them 3 times. The fist time I wore them while wet until they dried. But I never actually wore them in the bathtub. I heard that makes them "shrink to your body" but would that actually make them shrink any more?

So are these available in khaki anywhere other than some random macy's? I've check them out locally and no luck. None at kohls or levis web site.

Is 28 the smallest waist size for these? And has anybody seen a 28 waist size or lower in the Knight color?

Indigo 501's are cool. But I am really digging the various colors: khaki, in particular. If they have STF's in grey, I might pick up a pair. Haven't had grey jeans in ages.
