great pic ^^^, dont recall ever seeing that one before

Russ, nice jumper. i'm also a big fan of cable knit cricket jumpers. Like Roy says, more if an ivy league style than skinhead, but I'm a big fan of some of the Ivy looks from the 50s/60s and wear a lot of it myself.

Cheers mate , well worth it.

There are some pretty suspect looking items on that site! But you seem to have got a real bargain. One or two other nice FP bits too. I've never had a cricket sweater but I have always liked the association with that louche 1920s look.

hi, joined a year ago to read this thread..
here is my first post.. some rare and unseen tv footage from 1970!!

Crowds of youths run through the seafront gardens at Skegness. Many are dressed according to “skinhead” fashion; button-down shirts, jeans and braces; close-shaven hair and sideburns. Police attempt to control the crowds and people are pushed and pulled about roughly.

Just trying to find some smart scarf to fit into my new crombie to keep my neck warm. I read here that mostly blue/burgundy polka dots scarves (http://www.jumpthegun.co.uk/product/JTG_Burgundy_polka_scarf) were worn back in the days. They look very smart, but any other ideas so I can select from more options (what about plain/tartan, Fred Perry, Ben Sherman etc..) ? :)

The scarfs we wore in the 60s was football scarves, In saying that i had a white silk scarf that a Greaser gave me, he work with me Dad :), Those silk scarfs that present day Skinheads wear are made by Tootal, Think these type of scarfs are a 80s thing ???.

One question about the footage. Who, in Christ's name, were "the troggs and thunderbirds"????

I have seen M-o-M posted a couple times in this thread that they wore polka dot tootal in navy or black with white dots on his patch. Maybe for those with mod roots?
