Just like to point out, Smartness and Fashion is two different things, London was always ahead in fashion, but smartness can be found anywhere, Smartness is a individual thing.

Agreed, but I always think that smartness is an essential component of the Skinhead look. Fashionable clothes unpressed; unpolished shoes etc. never looks good.

To be honest to me some of the Skinhead style looks dated these days, even when i see young skinheads wearing the cloths, I mostly mean the wearing of check shirts, braces jeans and boots, but then seeing skinheads in a suit is a timeless classic.

I believe my beginnings in fashion, have stayed with me for the last 44 years.

I'd never - even now - go out without polishing my shoes (where applicable ), pressed trousers, clean shirt, no creased back on the suit jacket or rumpled creased jumpers, etc... I'd be embarrassed.

Obviously with linen jackets etc, you'd have to stop breathing to avoid creasing, but I'm sure you get my drift.

I'm hardly 'fashionable' but, I am always clean, tidy and, in most instances, could turn up anywhere - and not be deemed inappropriately dressed.

Some may even say, 'boring'.

But I'm happy - just the 'weight' issue to sort out, now.

I think that kind of grooming is something you don't really see amongst young people now (at least done as a matter of course, I mean).

I think that depends on who's wearing it and, of course, how they wear it.

Now come on, Ed - a SKIRT? We really have to draw the line somewhere.........
