The bloke who did the ripping was one horrible scruffy cnut. I cant even remember why he was with us that night, because we all hated him. fcuk him.

If I'm honest... it used to be me who was usually on the receiving end.shog[1].gif

I couldn't - and probably still can't - fight sleep. rotflmao.gif

Not summet I'd class as dressy mesell.
The black ones I posted were a more heavyweight option with thicker leather, slightly larger toe cap and triple leather soles.

Mhm. The ones I saw were definitely dressy.

Don't sweat it, Ed. I used to get through bother by sheer front! I have no idea whether I could fight or not because I hardly ever had to. wink.gif

Oh it's nothing much. It's just I can remember in '67 to '68 in Blackpool the suits would have side vents or a centre vent, or any combination of vents and pleats. Some guys had really long centre vent with a button at the small of the back. When I got down to London in '68 I found that things were pretty much standardised with a centre vent (although I had one PoW suit with side vents, as I recall).

The carrying of weapons and the use of was widespread 60s/70s, The cut throat razor was the weapon of choice, it maimed and was easy concealed, But as football violence escalated Knives Axes Machetes was all brought into the ground. Where the razor was used, these heavy weapons was more for show that actually used,

We had a little War around Kilburn with the Blacks for a few months, because we knew they carried and used knives... Lads would carry heavy weapons also, Only one lad got stabbed at the time he was on his own and they stabbed him in the lung, he was only one of the little Kilburn aged 14.
This was a nasty time around our way because we was having a War on our on Manor, with lads we grew up with, but sense prevailed in the end and their was a truce.

The thing back then, unlike now, No one wanted to kill anybody, although their was accidents, these days the killing's are mostly black on black, so no one really cares which is a tragedy.

Indeed, invented because the police initially never took newspapers off anyone going into football matches...but we soon got wise to you 'orrible shower using newspapers as weapons, especially the skinheads in our ranksbiggrin.gif

I think I've read something on this thread about a BBC's documentary called British Style Genius...well I found it on YouTube but...it lacks the parts regarding skinhead fashion baldy[1].gif !! Anybody knows where I can watch it completely or where I can find the missing parts?

If someone had bothered to look properly, they would have seen that the clipping you posted is in much better condition than the one in the book and looks obviously like an actual newspaper clipping and not a scan of one! The text reproduced in the book is difficult to read and doesn't, as far as I can remember, say that the girl is his girlfriend or give her name: so thank-you for that - I, personally, found that very interesting!
Read your 'resume’ and would love to hear any reminiscences you might have: 'original ' Skinheads are always welcome here!
