Mod to Suedehead - Page 340

damn some good stuff while i was in Japan. Really interesting talk about the various shirts that are so coveted these days, esp about Jon Wood which always seem to fetch near 200 quid if they have skinhead details
a couple pics from Tokyo/Nagoya....new years spent with the crew that hangs out at Bermondsey Cafe, a brit pub owned by my mate Jun who some may know since he goes to the big weekenders in England quite a bit and many know him over in UK. The Nagoya guys are REALLY into traditional/original skinhead with not a lot of interest in Oi, but mostly skinhead reggae and soul. The NYE club was great, amazing songs all through the night with a good mix of reggae, soul, ska, even rockabilly. Alex and Laury from Italy also came on holiday and Alex DJd as well.
most of the Nagoya crew
couple of the younger Nagoya guys
various pics throughout the night
on a different note, as Tokyo doesnt seem to have much of a traditional scene, more new breed Oi/Punk etc. This band is one of our faves tho, The Autocratics, have posted about them before but have always managed to catch a gig when we're in town. Really good band if you're into 2Tone ska which they do very very well.
Most of those japenese fellas seem to dress better that the majority of British blokes around at the moment.
Met Jun a few times, a really nice fella who is always well turned out. Owns a nice skelly too.

Yes he was wearing a West Ham scarf. Next to him is Tommy (with fist out) who was wearing a J-League (japan football league) scarf of his team. But yes English football is popular, but football in general is very popular there with many.

dunno yet Paul...want to try and pick a time that something cool is happening like Margate (this year's Bigger Boss is right at end of Olympics so flights and hotel to UK are $$$$), but we're also limited to when the missus can take her vacation while her school is on break, but hopefully sooner than later!

Aside from that, Does anyone have any experience in buying suits from these companies below:

or

I don't think these 2sites have been mention on here(if they have, I could not find the post). They look real nice but it helps to hear if they have any pros or cons.

@Jason: Isn't this you? Have a look

Acefaceclothing
(don't bother)
Adam of London
(I'm pretty sure ADAM also runs 'Jump the Gun', another excellent mod/skin clothing store. Great suits)
'Getsmart' is becoming a modern-day celebrity
(I studied a little bit of law in the early 90's, and I think Jason has a claim of 'infringement of interlectual property rights' as it's clearly him in the photo, and he has the same tats to prove it lol)

Good to know. The prices for Ace Face seem a bit... "off the chart" lol. AoL tonik(tonic)/mohair suits look REAL nice(I see they sell a lot of nice stuff). I might just go with one of those suits

It seems like M-o-M's pics aren't the only ones circulating on the web

wtf? haha yea that is me. and i'm wearing Jump the Gun staprest in that pic, not the ones being sold. dont care, face is blocked out so fine by me. should be flattered I suppose. What was funnier is someone came across a German newsstory on "fred perry worn by facist thugs" and the pic they used was of me wearing a FP buttondown, but again my face covered. Now that one was a WTF?!!?!?!? moment!!! hah
Adam of london....good gear, imo the trousers a bit too wide for my taste. He isnt the same Adam from Jump the Gun. There is an "Adam" that is one half of Jump the Gun, but is a different Adam. And JtG sells Adam suits, and both brands crombies are identical as they are made in same factory. So can see the confusion, but Adam suits and JtG suits fit quite different. Adam has longer jacket and more nipped in waist with wider trousers. JtG suit is shorter length jacket, more slim boxy fit, and trousers taper down leg much more. Personally I prefer JtG as it fits me better than Adam, but Adam is quality gear as well.
Aceface...not a fan of their overall cut. tbh I dont think i've ever seen a photo of someone wearing an Aceface suit that I thought looked good. But I'm sure it can if the wearer has an eye for fit.
If I can find it I'll scan it. Also have some good viz strips from the 80s about skinheads that I intend on scanning

I guess I ought to be relieved.

I have to confess I was bloody confused about that pic of Jason, though. "What pic?" I thought to myself. It never occurred to me someone had identified Jason without his head.
