They look better then the 874's, those are far too baggy.

Does anyone have any idea what kind of wrangler jeans were worn 69-70, the modern ones availible in the uk now look wrong.

Some of the details of wranglers 13mwz cowboy cut jeans only availible in america look like they have some similarities, look at the slant of the front pocket and  buttons

And skin wearing wranglers 1969, notice the similar pockets with buttons

I don't know if these guys ship to the UK but they might be cheaper for you guys here:
https://www.tillys.com/product/DICKIES-873-Mens-Work-Pants/147083110&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google_product&CAWELAID=120013610001886831&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=33891452721&CATCI=pla-261225941906?catargetid=120013610002688302&cadevice=m&gclid=CjwKEAjwj92_BRDQ-NuC98SZkWYSJACWmjhlj6pezeDC9t41wl2C_Wf_LoSi8IyvyFKdfWJPR6SrdhoC3V_w_wcB

There is a cholo store here in San Franciscos Mission District that sell Dickies for about $19.99. I'll check it out the next time I'm over there and be willing to proxy if anyone is interested.

Very low rise, unfortunately. Two veg firmly in place, while the meat gets cold.

Back in the day we wen't into a shop and asked for 'Levis' or 'Wranglers', never knew there were different types/models/whatevers.

As for 'look wrong', the real answer is to pick a pair that 'look right' on you. That's much better than an 'authentic' pair that don't suit you, I would say. Today's Wranglers seem to suit me better than today's Levis - I don't fight it.

Words of wisdom.

I only wore Levi's 501 for more than thirty years, but like you, today's Levi's don't suit me - i must say i didn't try any LVC 501 yet, i'm tempted by the 1966 model. I mainly wear Lee Riders now, much better fit. I've got one pair of Wrangler, very similar to the one above except the color, i've never been a great fan of the brand, but i must say they are very comfy, and the denim is of excellent quality.

Thanks for the tip Ed. I bought a pair. Good quality and almost comparable to my Lee 101s. Not bad for the money and a good fit. I checked out Uniqlo but would say these are better.

I've been pondering getting a pair of these but have one question: how is the rise on these compared to 501's?

The Rise is about 1/2 inch more than my Lee 101Zs. They have a button fly which I am not keen on. They are not high waisted jeans but are similar to jeans I used to buy. Not low waist. 501s seem to vary a bit so I can't compare with them.

Then the rise is higher than on Uniqlos. And they are said to be Kurabo denim which is very good.

Uniqlos have a zip fly though.

Yes a higher rise ( maybe +12 " for 34” waist) than the Uniqlo and a better feel to the denim. I did notice the zip fly on the Uniqlo pair but the cut was not as good for me. I had to travel to find an M & S that had them in stock so that I could try them on.

Those are the ones i am thinking of getting, they look rather good, found a picture of them with turn ups, and i have read that they were available in Europe in the 1960s.
