Again great stuff about the music. This proves skins were more ecclectic in thier tastes than we recognize today.Interesting comment Lasttye about going to todays "Do's" and only hearing Jamaican sounds. One of these DJ's should expand thier playlist for you Lasttye. Parker thanks for the info on the twins,I suspected it was revival.Still a cool pic. Ivyskin89 Cool pic.I can tell by the minivan in the background this is very recent. Is that you or some of your mates?
Glad someone pointed that out. Thought they were very well-known. They wore all sorts of stuff -- always identical. That's a photo of The Islington Twins by Janette Beckman for The Face mag back in the 80s. They're still quite sharp dressers today.

I would have to agrea wit that.Got me own clippers.Don't Mods just turn into skinheads when their hair falls out?
Unlike the Mods and later Punks, the Original Skinheads never had their own music, and seeing a Skinhead DJ was unheard off .and would have been a bit strange,

There are Dos,that I go to,which have Soul and Reggae played-not the obvious stuff though. This is where I differ, with my Musical Tastes.I went right into Rocksteady then Reggae(from `66 onwards).Motown became Pop Music(the best time for me was around `65).Of the Albums that came out in the early 70s,"Whats Going On"(Motown had finally woken up) was more relevant about real Life than a lot of "Rock Stars" could portray.I felt the same about them as I did the "Concept"Albums in the 60s.
Hey Folks check out Mr.David Reeves bringin his talents to the NYC.Don't Mods just turn into skinheads when their hair falls out?
