Day off today cant get any work, and yes i to feel like i've been sold down the river.
Colin, Dad would often scoff at what later teds wore mainly there colour choices, powder blues and pinks etc, he would remark that in his day it was mainly dark blues, browns, greys etc, he used to get his suits tailor made, and would pay on the tick in the booth, ive spoken to him quite a bit about tailoring etc and he knows his stuff, he has also mentioned that whist the stereotype for teds was drapes/crushers etc, it evolved and changed.
I went thru all the family pics a while back with my olds, a brilliant couple of hours listening to there yarns, Mother recounting tales of girls getting masscara eye ( an infection ) apparantly the stuff came in a solid block with a brush, you were meant to wet it with water to apply it, but no one bothered with that whilst out on the town and used spit, yuk! perfume came in a cardboard box and had to be put in an atomizer.
Spot on, on the brown splits Ace's, a bottle of brown ale with bitter in the same glass, the father in law always drunk a light split, the same as i've mentioned but with light ale, another i've heard of is black and tan, stout and bitter?
Anyhow's ive rambled on and dont want to move the thread to far off topic, but this is what you can end up looking like when you've drunk to many splits that are spiked with whiskey.
