Was a well known thing for flash londoners to get there clobber taxed off them at matches up north in the late 60s - 70s. In turn they just got a kicking when they came to London as they didnt have anything worth robbing .

:D,:D,:D Brilliant.

No mate .. a well dressed Crombie boy was very burlington arcade .. my tuppney worth for the jean jacket debate . Yes they were a out of london thing but Levi was a much much wanted label in the 60s and i guess kids would have worn anything with the red big E label on .. white Levis were popular with the older boys in North Kensington .
Surely the Big E was irrelevant back then

All Levis had the Big E label, Think the Big E was dropped around 81...When Levis got ride of their old looms..for wider ones, The Japanese bought the old looms,

I'am not in the photo, The two lads back either side was good mates of mine, Pat and Gerry RIP, the lad in the middle i think is Noel.
The lad front middle is Eddie, cant remember the names of the two others.
Gerry was a well know face for years at Chelsea, sadly stabbed to death three years ago aged 56..sticking up for someone in a Kilburn Pub. Gerry was a small lad with a lot of balls, he never showed any fear when it came to a fight, a lad you could always rely on.

I have wrote a lot on this thread about the Kilburn Mob yankmod.:)

Two completely different subjects. (1) Was there a craze for putting two tone laces, perhaps red/black or yellow/black in your brogues around the same time that Blakeys and segs were being worn? (2) Anyone ever seen or hear of washing up liquid bottles, or Jif lemon containers, filled with ammonia being used by skins at the match? Seem to remember press claims that this was a late 60’s/early 70’s skinhead weapon at football. Sounds horrific, even worse than dart throwing!

No info for this one unfortunately.

Sorry M-o-M, it's impossible to find who owns the copyright for these photos, they've been nicked so many times it's impossible to find out where they originally came from. (I've found some of yours (and mine) on quite a few sites too)

Now then.......

What about Army greatcoats? :D

Definitely no coloured laces in Manchester, 1969-70.

We wanted to look smart and, dare I say it, business-like... coloured laces would have looked to incongruous and out-of-step to our lot.

Heard the old amonia tales - never witnessed anything of the sort, though.
