If you go back on the thread, you'll find this subject have been discussed at length.

Agree.... the best imitation I've found is made by Levis was part of their golfing range in the US. Right cut, right feel and colours.

Live Injection this Saturday in the Stags Head, Hoxton. A good night even though I'm more of a soulman!

Even though they're ridiculously expensive, I often contemplate buying one.

I just saw (and tried ) one today. Indeed, they are "ridiculously expensive" but very smart.

The fit is said to be slimmer, but i already have the slim fit version, that i really prefer. But i think some may appreciate the new fit.

The bigger difference lies in the outer material of the G9. It's now a 50% cotton/ 50% polyester, when it was a 100% cotton.

I must say i was surprised with the quality. Actually this new mix looks and feels very nice. It's quite thick.

The zip is new too, but i didn't notice a real difference.

And they changed the pocket buttons, who are now much bigger. This doesn't look good at all IMO. With the cost it's the downside of this new G9.

I tried the Burgundy/Claret one, and i must admit that the color of the jacket is absolutely beautiful, and that it mixes perfectly with the Fraser Tartan lining.

But i will never pay such a price for a "Harrington". I bought my Baracuta G9 2 years ago, for half the price of the new one ! And i already found that too expensive at the time.

Clouseau.I have been looking at the Baracuta trench coat,I quite like the look of it ( especially the back like the Harrington) but it is £400 for that price I think that it should have a detatchable lining.

With shoes I think that you can decide their quality and then decide what the price should be and what you are prepared to pay, with clothes I think that its a bit more difficult.

I had a similar drink related loss a long time ago,a light green Harrington ( like the green Alpha jackets ) it was the best Harrington that I ever had, couldnt find a replacement and I don't think I have seen one the same colour since, been more careful after that.

Those pullover / popover shirts,I should imagine getting a slim fit one off is like a snake shedding its skin, probably not the most practical fit/style combination.

Waking up on a bench in Neasden with both kidneys intact was quite a feat. Having my hat on my head, and my watch on my wrist, was nothing short of a miracle.

Inks,

i think you said you are coming to Paris in march.

Two original parisians shops you could find funny, both in the center Halles area where you'll probably be hangin' around at one point, kind of mod/british/american style with a real french twist:

"Tim Bargeot", 3 rue de Turbigo, 75001

"Manufacture des beaux vétements", 21 rue des Halles, 75001  (The best of the two IMO)

Cheers

We, the family, went to Crufts today. Had a fantastic time.

I noticed a few gents of a certain generation and we shared a half nod if you know what i mean.

There were a couple of FPs and one guy showing a dog wearing a Penguin polo shirt, rolled black trousers and black trilby. Couldn't miss him. I was Tan chinos, buttoned up white polo and pink marl V neck jumper.

The guy was showing a Retriever. Looked pretty good in the ring, quite different from the country look most in there. No prize for the geezer, but aside from the penguin he looked pretty good.

Thanks for that info Clouseau. I'll try and check those places out when I'm there. I had to postpone going this month, as my missus is unfit to travel at the moment. We will be going to Paris at some point during the year though.

Baracuta harringtons..I have seen some on e bay new for £39.99,they say that they are cotton, made in England by Baracuta, they are mesh lined not tartan.

Is it the same outer shell ? does anyone know what the differences are ? ( besides 230 quid).

Also are Baracuta true to size or should you go up a size ?.
