And this is a picture of Clapton during his Yardbirds years playing on a Fender Jazzmaster, very close to a Jaguar.

I think the guitar in the clip is a Jaguar. It is different from Chris Dreja's axe in the top pic and from the one being used by Clapton in the bottom pic, which is a Jazzmaster. The more I look at the clip and contemporary photos the less sure I become that it's Clapton in the clip.

It's the Soul Agents playing in the clip, so it's not clapton frown.gif (also pre-rod stewart... so no rod as well)

Are they mentioned in the credits at the end?

Incidentally, I'm trying to make out what's printed on the poster at the back of the stage (in the still from the French clip). I can identify the Mike Cotton Sound and Chris Farlowe...

I know all of this is a bit off topic, but at least we're in the 60s.

I don't think we are off topic as long as we stay in the "mod to suedehead" timeline.

I'm trying to find another French documentary, shot in  june 1970 by the ORTF, for a show called "Panorama" about london skinheads. I saw it a long time ago, and found a Youtube link, but it's dead. If somebody could find it, there is very interesting unseen footage. It may have been shown previously on this thread. Worth seeing. Same kind of reporting that the 1965 one about mods.

I found it on youtube......1er reportage francais sur les skinheads 1970 London

I think that some of this was on tv here then,I definitely remember us talking about London skinheads on the bus stop on the way to school the day after an interview on tv,I remember that Mile end was mentioned and we thought that was the name of the West Ham end / kop.

I think you are right about staying in the mod to suedehead timeline and keeping the thread on topic, maybe another thread will start up for the other not strictly on topic discussions.

Cerneabbas, glad you could see it ! Here it says on Youtube "this video can't be seen in your country". Funny enough as it's a french documentary...

Try it by entering   panorama 1970 skinheads   into the search engine without going on youtube...it may have been disabled in France for racism ? it mentions "paki bashing" and there is an interview with Enoch Powell.

A few different press reports have them down as Docs.

I wonder if Loake will be offering a resoling service, as to be done right it also needs a new welt.

Had some Docs resoled years ago and they looked shite because they used the old welt.

You could always shorten the sleeves. Wouldn't cost much.
Is it deadstock or a current brand?

It's pre-owned. That makes me think the sleeves have been altered already. They're pretty damn long looking for a manufactured short-sleeve.

Yah that's what it looks like. Long even for "half-sleeve".
Nice shirt though, and to reiterate it'd be cheap to have the sleeves done to your liking.
