Yes, and also old school shit that works better than 99.9% of stuff out there.

People doing dumbbell curls in front of the mirror or some silly cable stuff make me sad.

Seriously, I've come to believe that ANYONE would benefit from exclusive big-three program over almost any other type of routine. Even the hardcore BBs and PLs sometimes make their best gains from going back to the basics.

Mix in more good all-around fitness stuff for real world endurance and strength, and you're golden.

so far no one has mentioned anything to build up resistance so here is my suggestion a a decent wing chun dummy for the arms. proabaly cane of some sort for the legs and back, and of course a medicien ball for the the chest and stomach. if you cannot take hit why bother being strong. for general workout i it hard to beat a rowing machine as well.

Nowhere does he say he's training for contact/combat sports. So...what are you going on about?

Throw in a chin-up bar (or do them on the rack).

more than one person mentioned a heavy bag as well so that is not needed either?

You're talking about taking a hit. When I was training hard, I did it for three reasons: 1. Functional strength. 2. My health. 3. To look good. Not so I could better take a hit or build up resistance. Resistance to what? A wing chun dummy might be a valid suggestion if that's his preferred method of exercise. I used to jump rope despite not being a boxer. So the heavy bag didn't strike me as being odd or associated with some idea of "combat". I know people who used a heavy bag for cardio (and maybe to take out stress/agression) yet they didn't feel a need to "build up resistance".

we are taking this thread off topic so i wil try to be brief leave it alone after this. what does one one do with a heavy bag? they strike it either with their hands or feet correct. why? because it gives some form of opposition to the striker thus simulating hitinng a person. it is a combat training tool. so i think resistance training gear is just as valid as a heavy bag in a gym. A jump rope and heavy bag are completely different the former is for general conditioning, the latter look at the above defintion. why use a heavybag for cardio when shadowboxing will do the same thing or any other type of fast movement will work as well. the cases where there are used for cardio is when the user practices some exercise form of a martial art, tai bo, cardio kenpo, cardio kick boxing. But that group is the minority to those that practice martial arts in the common manner.
