Nice - details on the suit?

edit: Oh wait, I had to have jacket shortened and another pair of pants let out too...But still that sounds like I'm charged $50 more.

P.S. just came back from Hugo Boss Outlet. Bought a Boss Selection wool tie $53. Found out I look sexy in a light purple shirt and I fit into Boss size 34US perfectly, no need to alter waist, back or even the sleeves at all. The 34 I tried on was a Cotton/Silk medium blue casual sports jacket - Queen sharp model. No way I'm paying $500 for it though.

Would love to see a pic

Yeah, I'm in that building! Oh no, all of a sudden the anonymity of the Internet is disappearing!

It's this suit: http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/i...entPage=family

I picked it up for half price at the RL sale a few weeks back (that I learnt about on SF), I think it was about $950 from memory. Alterations done at Katrina's (which I also learnt about on here). So all in all I think I owe SF one on that suit!

Ha, my post. Nice pickup. Starting to make me feel a little miffed that I didn't take advantage...

Small world, I'm in the building as well! Glad to hear there's another eGent (thanks, fxh) around.

Feel free to say hi next time.

R.E. Flannel pants and Canberra.

Thanks guys, I will go for a bit of a walk around the shops and see what is what. Might need to do a Sydney trip too which is good as I was looking for an excuse.

I remember seeing that suit there. Very nice.

Ok so Katrina comes recommended, I was wondering if anyone has used Adrianno Carbone for suit alterations. He's has a shop in the block arcade on Elizabeth St.

I'm taking my newly acquired Heringbone suit there on Tuesday, so I guess I will find out first hand - just looking for a heads up if anyone has used him. I've heard good things.

I am sure Adrianno will do a good job but he will cost you considerably more than Katrinas. I remember once he quoted me around $200 for working cuff buttons - whereas Kim at Katrinas did it for around $40. It might have been the case that Adrianno was going to hand sew the button holes but even so...

How do the button holes by Katrina look? Could you post some pictures?

They look good. Very neat - done by machine. I have used Katrinas to have working buttons sewn on two different jackets.

I am very bad at posting pics sorry, in part because it entails explaining to my wife what on earth I am doing with our digital camera!

Yeah, I'm worried if I start posting too manmy pictures I'll be recognised by the lurkers... Sydney is a sartorial small pond and I know the good dressers are few and far between - the ones I see have most probably discovered this forum and this thread.

This gets me thinking actually - what motivated you other Aussie-based coves to register on a largely *****-dominated Internet forum?
