yes short pants indeed. Fuddy duddy - nothing, except his genitalia, is less attractive than a man's ankle. you may quote me. I'm inclined to ask of idiots in those 3/4 pants thingos - "Excuse me son, can you tell me if those are short longs or long shorts?" I'm sitting in the Qantas Lounge at Sydney Airport drinking free Shiraz and scoffing artichoke hearts, olives, and pastrami - strolling the Tinsel Town boulevards today has not been exactly sartorially inspiring - seems the whole joint is in love with excessive flesh exposure.

Did anyone make it to the Herringbone sales? I was after the Woden blazer but nothing left in my size unfortunately.

Anyone know of any reputable tailors in the inner west of Sydney? Preferably with nice hours.

When I visited the Brisbane store a couple of years ago, I bought about 20 of these hangers:

I just got 4 of those hangers from mei+picchi last week. They have a store in Johnston street just up from Smith street on the way to Brunswick street. Good hangers - I have some better ones with wider shoulders but I have no idea where to buy them

There's a tailor on the main street in Belmore (54 Leylands Pde). I've never used him, nor heard from anyone who has, but in walking past there two days ago, he had quite a few Dormeuil fabric books on his shelf by the front window, as well as many others. He's a Chinese tailor, so he's bound to offer reasonable prices.

I am seeking some opinion as to the quality of suits from Berkely Apparel - Rembrandt and Studio Italia etc.

They typically come with two pants and for the price range (during the sales season), they appear to be quite reasonable (approx $300-$400) . Any alternative brands which provides good value without breaking the budget?

Pay peanuts, get monkeys.

That said, I own a SI suit which has actually been quite durable. I can't say enough about any of the others, but they all seem to be much of a muchness really. If that's your budget, then a SI should do you fine.

Rembrandt is made in NZ and also does a lot of other Own Brands for small shops. Rembrandt used to make good sportcoats and I think still do - don't know about their suits. Nothing wrong with Rembrandt for the money and might be better value and quality than many at that price point. A few of the MTM places, in Melb at least, now use Rembrandt in NZ.

Quite a few MTM places are using Rembrandt these days. I guess they're cheap. I haven't heard too many overly good things about them, though.

I'll have you know that the first outing of my navy blue loafers (worn sans socks) made my wife extremely aroused.

Did she see your exposed ankles or exposed genitalia first?

Can anyone suggest some good places in perth to hire a tux for a wedding? I will be getting married next year and want something that does not look cheap. All the hire places im seeing online start at $69 for hiring so im assuming that these are cheap and crappy looking tuxedos.

Are you a Yank? Only Americans call dinner jackets tuxedos (dinner jackets were first worn at Tuxedo Park in New York).

Please don't copies the Yanks in wearing bloody dinner jackets in broad daylight to a wedding. Unless, you are serving the drinks, in which case go right ahead.
