The only place to shop at Herringbone is in Sydney. I'm certain that the service and level of expertise there is much better than the one I was in at Melbourne today. Really need to fly up there to get served by that Ethan guy who gets a lot of plugs.

There's the odd nice thing there, but don't believe any of the 'discounts' until you've shopped around.

Not sure why you'd go to Voi when you've got this site...

This might well be one for the PSA thread (in which case: apologies, mods) but since it's an Aussie deal, I thought I'd post here too.
I went to a function last week in Sydney and there was a guy doing a 4 CT shirts for $150 shipped deal through his website: http://www.promotionsmagic.com.au
(and no, I'm not the guy

! )

Can somebody else please try this out and let us know if it's kosher, so that I can do it afterwards?

Thanks.

Seems fine, just checked it out. The only catch is that it: a) is actually priced in GBP (GBP 90) b) does not seem to include delivery Appart from that, it seems fine.

Just been around DFO South Wharf in Melb and saw outlet for gap, banana republic and old navy? I've never seen those being sold in Australia before. Where are those stores hiding?

The outlet at South Wharf has been open for about 6 months or more I think, but doesn't carry much as yet. There are real Gap stores now at Chadstone and somewhere in Sydney (at least), but from what I've read they're trying to price them like a premium brand (ie, twice the US prices). Certainly some Gap jeans they had at the SW outlet on 50% off were still about the same price I paid for the same ones in London at RRP.

Given that 100 British pounds = 159.601735 Australian dollars

And CT are offering 4 shirts for 100GBP

I can't see the point in going signing up to a spa.., oops, online marketing mob, for essentially the same price.

VAT is 17.5% from memory

159.6 less 17.5 % VAT=~ 26aud $= 134 aud$

Mail to oz is 12 GBP from CT= aud$19

134aud+ 19aud$= 154 aud$ all up direct from CT

+1. Just buy direct from Charles Tyrwhitt.
I don't particularly like their shirts - I used to have several but I only wear one on a semi-regular basis now - but I am impressed by their chino and corduroy trousers, particularly at sale prices.

I can get some Austen Brothers shirts for $85, ties for $50, cuff links $39. What's the quality like? Good deal or no? Thanks

You should be able to get them for $75, as thats RRP on them.

A lot of corp mates use them for daily beaters and generic white business shirts. They fit well and are pretty good quality for the price.

I have had one and I was pretty impressed, but never tried their ties/cuffs
It was was decent 2 ply cotton and i liked the steel collar stays also

I've had a blue luxury twill for about two years, and I've just bought a white herringbone (I got them via the wife with a corporate deal).

The collars and cuffs are fused. The older shirt had gusset re-inforcing, the new one doesn't, however they are different cuts (classic vs tailored).

C.f. my Oxford shirts I'd say the Austen Brothers shirt has worn very well and is good value for a work shirt at about $80.

I have one tie. Nice thick silk and good value at $50 I think.

Thanks Jaypee

RRP is $75? I have $180 - $250 in the corporate flier they sent out?

The RRP is $120 in the flier for ties. Perhaps you guys are thinking the corporate pricing?

Anyways, sound like it's worth taking a look. Thanks for the info
