Oh and does anyone has a recommendation for a semi decent alterations tailor in sydney that can do a reasonable job of shortening the hem of my current 2 suits by an inch?

Thanks heaps!

That Landsend deal was good. I got 6 pair of the trunk jocks and two pairs of longish shorts for USD96 shipped priority.

The jocks are the only ones I have found as comfortable fit as the old Gowings ones and half the price. Fantastic wearing.

If it goes pear shaped Landsend has an Aussie postal return so no big return fee.

Oh yeah, definitely a character! Even went far enough when I had a chat to diss Turnbull & Asser's British Bulldog-ness about fabric thread counts haha

Do they sell shoes? I didn't see any? Anyways, they are having a clearance sale so it's all on sale.

As far as i know, they don't sell shoes. They sell pretty much everything else in a basic SF wardrobe though. The suits did look nice..

What's the flavour of the month slim shirt?
Was thinkin about epaulets but USD 135 + 30 shipping a pop theyre pretty expensive. I've been hearing reports that herringbone are no longer what they used to be.

Brooks Brothers online 16-25%off
coupon code: FA10WWE

$50 off $300, $100 off $500, $200 off $800+ order through 9/22/10

Theres also 3 standard shirts for $199 offer. I'm thinking of getting it sent to Sydney, Australia ($50 flat postage fee). Wondering if theres anyone who wants to piggy back off my order, so collectively we can get a higher discount.

I'm at $350.so i only get 50 off. If anyone wants 3 shirts for $200, another discount of $50 is applied.

I like a lot of BB's stuff, but I typically only buy from them when they have their semi-annual sales of up to 50%. The fact that they charge US$40 or $50 on anything - even some socks and pocket squares - is irritating and a disincentive to purchase from them, too.

Having said that, though, if you're purchasing a lot of stuff, or a pair of shoes, the shipping fee becomes fairly reasonable.

Hi guys, I was sent over from this thread I made to ask if any of you know where to get good clothes in New Zealand, specifically Wellington. I'm mostly looking to get a good suit or two that fits well and won't break my budget. Thanks in advance!

I lived in Wellington for 7 years but unfortunately my sartorial interest was only sparked when I move to Australia.

Others may be able to help you better if you give an idea of budget. Good luck!

If you meant Borrelli, then no. But for $150, y'aint gonna get Borrelli, at least not new. B&S?
If your budget is $150 per shirt, I'd wait until boxing day sales start at Harrods, and phone-order Turnbull & Asser or Brioni shirts. In the summer sale they were both reduced to around 80 pounds, and being an int'l order, you get the 15% VAT taken off on top of that.

Also on the B&S, you can occasionally find Tom Ford shirts for $150-165, i think those might have what you're looking for. I can vouch for the quality being excellent, on par with the big London shirtmakers and the other Italians too.
