Fresco for a tux - that's interesting.

The more lining you have, the hotter it's going to be, hence I feel that's a bit counter productive to go for a full lining based on the purpose of the suit/fabric...?

Yeah, I want to try out the interesting interplay between the texture of the fresco and the satin (lapels).

And fresco was the foremost choice because of climate.

As for the last point - it's not all that counterproductive if you're not going to be in 33 degrees/90% humidity year-round.

Thanks, I appreciate the ideas, but for reasons I don't really want to get into, they have to be a 'mainstream' line (ie a brand that you'd find at a Sunglasses Hut or something similar). Persol is probably the most 'out there' brand that my friend could acquire, but I find that the 714's don't suit my face shape (it could be because of the size of the frames that I tried).

Checkstar,

Look up Dior Entracte 2.

1. Mainstream brand obviously
2. Come in variety of colours light/dark tortoiseshell
3. You can pick them up pretty cheap too.

Fair enough.

I'm looking at this as a summer suit, but I'll add in a vest to give it a few more months of wearability (use from Sept / May, instead of just Nov / March).

So I'll probably go for a jacket that's very light (quarter or half lined), and maybe knee lined trousers... Ideally I'd get the trousers unlined, but I do worry about them being too see through.

If any of the Melbourne members are ANZ Bank customers, it might be worth your while to head down to Docklands and check out the new concept branch opened there today. Very different from the usual ANZ branch, and some new tech in action.

I have no affiliation with ANZ, other than they pay my salary. :)

Impressed with Mr Porter (and by extension DHL) and the service so far. Order placed around 11pm on Thursday evening and has just arrived at my house now (Monday 4pm). Something to look forward to when I get home.
You and me both. Two boxes on my desk at the office this morning - one from Mr Porter and one from Wiggle. Win!

I only ask as you can also select the US site and the prices tend to be a fair bit cheaper than either the Aus or UK portals and I find the range to be slightly better also. You also get access to 50/70/80% off sale a good week before the Australian site. Downside is that postage is USD55 v GBP20.
