Constant humidity and temperature stops the cork from having to expand and contract, less stress, less chance of oxidation / dry cork.

Also why the bottles are best stored sloping downward, to keep the bottom of the cork moist.

I recently had the chance to taste 2 bottles of teenaged Canberra Shiraz back to back, identical other than one being affected by cork contamination which gives the wine a 'wet dog' smell & taste. This can be cured by making a ball of Glad Wrap and placing it in the decanted wine. Somehow this attracts the chemical responsible for the off taste and removes it from the wine.

That's not the same thing as a "corked" wine, which is a problem (fungal infection) inherent to the type of cork used and is not influenced by storage conditions.

Louise Edmonds (who has "cred in the luxury menswear sector" due to her "experience within retail trend analysis companies") has penned another lamentable Men's Style article for Fairfax:

http://www.executivestyle.com.au/five-finishing-touches-for-a-stylish-mans-outfit-gkx581

"A monogram adds a bespoke finishing touch to any outfit, as Dior Homme showed with this sophisticated, yet subtle, detail in their Spring Summer shirt collection."

Clearly, Ms Edmonds uses a different dictionary from the one that I use, if she thinks that is "sophisticated, yet subtle".
