Instead of going to church, our secular lifestyle now seems to demand that all yard-work is done on Sunday mornings. I'm sitting out on my deck with a book, with the cat on the sofa next to me, when all of a sudden I'm assaulted by the cacophony of not one, but two different whipper-snippers. I then hear yet another motor and when I look out the front, I see that the 80-something-year-old lady next door has started using a blower-vac to clean her driveway as well!

I would have thought that Saturday would normally be the day for this sort of stuff but I guess that people are typically so busy on Saturdays now (especially if you have kids) that Sunday is now the default day for cleaning up around the yard.

Absolutely right. I'm glad I don't have any such problems while I'm on holiday in Japan. On another note, we went to visit the beautiful and peaceful Fushimi Inari shrine in Kyoto today and I took a shot for you guys that will give you an idea of the Zen-like atmosphere:

Pretty much. Sometimes the jail cells in the corner are more secure.

All true. But what does it have to do with wine fridges? They don't stop cork rot.
