I assume for the jacket funds you have a envelope / brown paper bag of a few Gs of those big gold pineapples from Jeff McCloy or Tinkler

But am taking advice from neck beards in fedoras (I won't embarrass them with pics).

Forgot Oli has the wrong party affiliation.

Its really sad - a developer becoming a Mayor just reeks of BS.

Most on the forum don't like the Cockpit USA - apparently they have a more updated, looser fit. US Wings is held in a similar regard.

Most of the love goes to Aero Leather, G&B, Good Leather and the Real McCoy.

Us Authentic Leather Co appears to be the Loake 1880 of the jacket world, which is generally regarded as entry level despite some hate from the perfectionists.

Cooper A2s are also supposed to be decent, but they seem to be extant.

Feel free to correct me if I'm off.

Thefedoralounge is a really interesting read - thanks for this.

I read on the forums of the love for second hand LL Bean A2s and G1s, when they were made in the US. They look to be made of goatskin a lot of the time.

I've had a look on eBay and there's plenty going for under $200, so I think i'll make a purchase and report back.

Anyone after a pair of jeans? Got a pair from Gustin, tagged size 34 slim, turned out to be way off (too big) in terms of measurements. Decided to try 3sixteen instead. BIG step-up in price but hopefully I'll have better luck with them!

Gustins are for sale in my signature.

Well at the trunk show there is no MTO surcharge for changing the leather (within limits), size, width, soles, so its a 'discount' from that perspective.

Pretty simple process, pick an existing model, get sized by George, pick details, pay 50% and then wait. Mine took about 5-6 months.

Maybe write down any specific details that you want so you don't forget on the day of ordering, like flush metal toe taps or nailed initials on the sole.

So the question is what do I wear to the Dylan concert on Monday night. Its St. Kilda, Melbourne, Monday night, Bob Dylan, winter, I might meet someone I know, I don't want to look like a suburban dad from Blackburn , or an ageing government employed hipster from Fitzroy/Brunswick/Northcote/Seddon etc ,

What are the options?

Immaculately tailored 3-piece navy pinstripe suit, crisp white shirt, loud tie and pocket square and a pair of handmade midnight blue Cleverleys.

And start a fight or two.
