Pink Socks thank you for the coupon! Finally pulled the pin on another pair of Loake shoes for work.

On a related note, anyone know a good cobbler in Melbourne CBD? Must be a topy master

Nice jacket. What were the prices for Caruso suits at Harold's ? Looking to get a new suit. Was there anything under 1k worth mentioning?

Went to Henry bucks last week. The suit selection 36r was terrible and way over priced. Richard James for $900 fully fused! The guy said they never carry much in my size and they can do mtm fused for $1900 and full canvassed at $3k .

Went to a wedding in Melbourne on the weekend just gone. Had a blast Also got to road test the new suit.

It's from P Johnson, in a light navy (or perhaps a dark blue) Ariston cloth (the number 105 comes to memory, but I'm not sure how these things work) in a 2 button SB design. The buttons a re a smoked MOP, and I think overall, the ensemble came together well with the white shirt and tie.

I noticed quite a few guys with solid color ties there and it got me thinking that the striped tie might be a little CBD for the occasion. Then again, my tie collection is rather non-existent (the blue stripe, a plain red and a plain pale blue round out the ensemble) so some further work required there.

Here's a snap from the day:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Suit: P Johnson
Shirt and Tie: Ascot Chang

Pocket Square: Random White Linen
Shoes: Crockett and Jones (Westbourne)

That Herring code came four hours after I completed my tax.
If I'd taken the initiative to donate a few hundred more to charity my return would've been large enough to make the Raleigh a little more palatable, but I still couldn't bring myself to do it.

But thank you PS for the Loakes I've taken in its place.

If any of your wifes/girlfriends/partners/mums ask why you have got a new pair of shoes - don't mention my name. I have already got in too much trouble for being an enabler.

Glad to help though and wear your shoes in good health.

Just on the way home from another successful Suitably Connected event. You can always tell the SF members - just look at the shoes. An enjoyable night as always.

Would these buttons (2.8cm, so quite large) be too obtrusive on a peacoat that is very similar to the below? Should I try and find something darker? (the problem being that 45 ligne horn buttons are damn hard to come by...)

Colour looks fine to me, Lachy.

Speaking of outerwear, if anyone is still looking for a quilted jacket for what's left of winter, I just noticed that Malford of London has a few nice-looking ones by Ede & Ravenscroft:

I tried these on when back in Edinburgh. Lovely jacket but I could not justify the 200 pound price when I could (and did) get a Barbour jacket up the road for 65 pounds.
