fwiw I find Idole to be more boozy and woody than spicey but we may be comparing Edt to edp.  If you really wanted a cedar / sexy wood smell to your shoe trees id bath them in Ramon Monegal Agar Musc or Tom Ford Oud wood.

re: shoetrees, I contacted doublemonk at someones suggestion to Ari's question, they said they have shoetrees from all the high end popular brands and their own DM brand with a solid heel for $49 - very polite and quick after hours reply too.  That being said even with the shipping charges Amazon and AE/Woodlore full toe trees seem to be the best bang for buck.

I have an MJ B suit with side tabs. They have had them on selected lines for about a season now. Can confirm, not flimsy.

Herringbone have been doing trousers with side tabs on selected suits for a few years now - I've got a slim-fitting charcoal suit with a single-vented jacket and trousers with side adjusters that I think was part of their range three or four years ago.

The description sounds like Bundaberg Rum.

I can see what they're trying to do - attract customers by putting M2M features (working buttons, side tabs) on a RTW suit.

I reckon they'd do better by increasing their fabric range - once you get a navy and mid grey suit MJB is limited. They still haven't mastered a dark grey/charcoal, a pinstripe/chalkstripe or a subtle glen plaid.

Herringbone's range last season was reasonably varied, not so much this time around.

If anything MJ B's range has been collapsed over the years. I remember when they first started they had some nice charcoal (real charcoal, not mid-dark grey) and pinstripe pieces. Also some funky well tailored odd jackets in interesting but wearable fabrics.

Now it's 50 shades of blue for the suits and the jackets are blue but with silly #details like red buttonholes or white pick stitching on the lapels.

The jackets always had working cuffs, for better or worse.

There's some guy selling Falke pure cotton socks for $10 a pop on the forums. That's a bargain right? are these as good a bresciani/marcoliani?

Sized down (and likely long) vintage m65s are the real answer.

To anyone with kids - I estimate - say 4 yo to 10 yo - loverly soft light wool Duffle Coats at ALDI - with all the details and great colours. $40. Adult ones - the few I looked at didn't have the details and were zipped but still nice soft light wool. $60

That is indeed cheap.

I wouldn't say they are as good as marco/bresc but I think they are good socks.

Picked up some ysl l'homme before reading about the libertine sale. $100 for 100ml + a bag. Not too bad
