Inspired by a recent discussion, I am goofing off work and heading to Canberra for the long weekend. Hopefully the desolation won't be too dispiriting.

RE tie knots: depends on the tie and the shirt collar. Some point collars look better with a narrower knot like a FIH, others (cut aways) look better with a 1/2 windsor IMO. Some tie fabrics need more loops to get a knot proportional to the size of the blade, others need less etc.

Generally though I prefer a 1/2 windsor for business wear; FIH for business casual.

Its good. The Elvis photo exhibit is better than you might expect.
I got taken to a block "thats a lot like Melbourne" !!! Thats 3 coffee shops al la Brunswick Street 10 years ago.

I think the Incas is coming here anyway - they are very cagey about what exhibits will go to what cities.

Parliament wasn't sitting the week I was there - I always like to go to one question time. You might be in luck I think Michelle Grattan is in town that weekend!

An aroma given off by male goats activates reproductive brain regions in their female counterparts.

The study is the first to make a link between pheromones that activate the “central reproduction axis”. Researchers collected pheromones from the heads of normal and castrated male goats using a custom-made cap and found a number of hormones specific to the intact goats.

Lead researchers Yukari Takeuchi and Professor Yuji Mori are hopeful the findings could be used to investigate links between pheromones and brain activity in other animals, and possibly even humans.

Perhaps that's because your tailor took one look and decided it wouldn't make any difference.

Ouch!

I suppose that I left myself exposed to that...

Actually I've met Ms Grattan. A good friend of mine is a Gallery journalist. I refrained from sharing my performance reviews with her. :-)

It's amusing how others find Pharrell's style aspirational. Should have gone with seersucker, and Doc Martins...
