Is that the one with all the unique flavours including some very Asian?
Casa Del Gelato. They used to be on the Cnr of Lygon and Argyle St..they moved up a few doors about a decade ago. One of the best gelati stores in Melbourne IMO.
That part of Lygon has been crappy food and atmosphere for at least the last 20 years. I don't mind Ti Amo or Universita up that way. Cafe Sport was the real thing years ago. Around the corner was the cafe that Gatto shot Benji but I think its been sold. Melbourne's best sportcoats and pants shop is in Lygon
Didnt know there was a HB in 914 Hay St perth. HB London Crt is still full priced
Tano, the HB on 914 is temporary for the warehouse sale. Ends Saturday I think. You should join Herringbones mailing list so you get the info first hand.
Picked up that navy suit today... put a smile on the dial. Good to see plenty of people there.
These tailors are visiting my wife's work next week. http://suitsyoursize.com.au/ Anyone heard much about them at all? The seem to be another offshore MTM brand, with a specialisation in women's suits.
If you're talking off the rack, then I doubt you'll get 50%. They do free alterations on all their suits, but half price is asking a bit much (you can always try I guess!) I'm currently having a suit made for me and they offered a discount for cash. Bear in mind their tailored suits are pricier so there was probably more margin to work with.
It's been back to back meetings for work, but I did manage to find my way over to The Armoury on Wednesday night and had a great chat with Alan. I went over with a mission to pick up a navy Grenadine tie but they were all sold out. Tried on a pair of the Carmina double monks and fell in love - FYI I had to size up to a 11.5 (normally an 11). I resisted the temptation to buy as I really need to get a pair of brown oxfords before I go all out with double monks. Alan was a great guy and really chatty.
Anyhow, it's off to the next meeting then off to the airport for London where I am hoping to get to the opening of the new Drakes store!
Well I'd tell you where the guys in my office get their suits at great prices from an online tailoring service in Sydney There are about eight suits from this guy floating around my office and everybody seems to like them and the prices are certainly good. However the last time I mentioned it I was accused of promoting the site. So I won't post it again.
Although, if you really wanted to know you could always look here for the 4th post down

Well unlike some other people I hope you liked the heads up. I thought a forum like this was to share things we know with other members. Like Herringbone sales in Perth
One of my colleagues in the office is friend with the owner. He arranged at least half a dozen suits for the guys in the office (I think he may be on commission) The cheaper suits are OK but I wouldn't say they are anything super special. Once you get to that $399 mark the quality is pretty good though. Where else in Australia can you get a handmade full canvas suit for that sort of money? I like it because it Australian based and if anything goes wrong I'm not dealing with somebody in Hong Kong
I'm told that he's about to launch a service with suits from Savile Row trained tailors made from designer fabric like Scabal, H&S and Dormeuil . However that came to me via the in-office grapevine so I can't say how true it is.

As the old saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And this my friend, sounds too good to be true.
