My Sunspel long-sleeved polo arrived today and I couldn't be happier with it. The material is definitely different from pique and the material appears sheer at first glance but it actually sits very well. I can understand how some people would don't like the feel of this though. I've got a Kent Wang rugby on the way and I expect that the material will be different on that one.

Anyway, I'm happy with this and I actually have it on now.

He could just be wearing PINK SOCKS?

What? Oh, sorry I thought someone was calling me.

Mr Nelson - glad your Sunspel polo worked out well. Still waiting for mine to arrive. Did you get your Drakes cashmere tie yet? I wore mine on Monday. Beautiful.

+1 welcome to the Sunspel, guaranteed you will not ever return to anything else GN. Did you get the Navy?

Probably direct from Sunspel - they just recently participated in the Thanks Giving sales.

On sale, the Sunspel polo was selling for $110-$115 including shipping.

Correct MS. Have couple on order now. Used to get them from Henry Bucks, however they only stocked the polos and t shirts with the pockets, ie James Bond Edit Style Range, I personally hate the pocket thing so ended up going straight to them. Last time I was in HBs in Collins Street they had some very nice Sunspel merino knits in french navy and charcoal, great for Melbourne, not so good for Brisbane...less so for Darwin. Have to say though the knits are a standout when compared to those ones HB get made up under their own label, they are rubbish - nice colours etc but rubbish. I saw it was 14 degrees in Melb today...geesh you guys are lucky.

Damn, that is lucky.

Glad for the not 46 degree weather this week.

Looking at all the posts from the USA and Europe, with their layers, and their boots, and coats, and knitwear (my favourite part of mens wear).

DAMN IT!

Well, I was wondering where you've been :)

Sorry, started a new job recently. All quite new to me so only been checking here, not really contributing (who said "thank god!").

I know GN got his at EndClothing as he wanted the navy one. I went with Sunspel as I was happy with white and it was much cheaper. About $93 including shipping (and am pretty sure that included a pair of boxer shorts too).

Was nice that it was colder today in Melbourne, much easier to dress for, esp for a boy from sunny Scotland.

I came back to find a note from the post office so I expect it's the tie which I'll collect tomorrow.

Thanks! Yep, I got the navy. I think it looks really good.

I got it from End Clothing. Sunspel didn't have any mediums in navy which was the colour I was after and End Clothing had them on sale as well. PS got it directly from Sunspel.

Promised to follow up on the definition of dress code when attending functions at Parliament House in Darwin referred to as Territory Rig.

Territory Rig

Gentlemen: Long trousers, long sleeve shirt and tie or barong or long sleeve batik shirt
Ladies: Day dress/after five
Given I don't own a Barong...yet!!! and will forever pass on the sartorial splendor associated with batik shirts I went with BB cotton shirt long sleeve white button down collar, navy trousers in wool and navy grenadine tie, with unstructured boglioli jacket - was trying to be unobtrusive and conservative - that I achieved. Arrived when everyone was already there, and yep, was the only one with tie and jacket. Darwin's a funny place Im still non the wiser on "Territory Rig'

I like the simplicity of australian sartorialism. Australian marino wool suits, minimally lined ties and cotton socks - not having to worry about vests, double blazers, overcoats etc.
