Hi Gents,

If you look at the last few pages you will see a bloke who has made 32,766 posts, and posted numerous pics, and yet still doesn't even know what the rise on trousers is.

Yes thats Thirty Two Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six posts on a menswear forum and he still hasn't a clue.

It could lead one to give a small thanks for Oz Members thread and attempts to keep it polite, helpful and sane.

The reason I sometimes get angsty about this thread is because of what has happened to the WAYWRN thread, just terrible. It's a mix of complete newbies who think they should post fits straight away and guys like stitches posting an enormous amount, but adding little. Even the loooong time poster are posting less or leaving. Sometimes I read through the old WAYWRN thread, wow have things changed.

JM, that shirt looks Cotton-Linen. Is it really only Linen?

You are right - I checked the label this evening and it is a 65/35 blend of linen and cotton. Interestingly, it feels identical to a very fine Borrelli linen shirt that I used to have. That shirt proved to be bit too fine, though, as the fabric wasn't very durable.

Anyway, here are a few photos of today's outfit:

- Mini houndstooth check suit by Ring Jacket for Herringbone;
- Blue-and-white Bengal stripe shirt by Borrelli;
- Silk print tie by Drake's;
- White linen pocket square by Kent Wang;
- U-throat, semi-brogue shoes from Loake's 1880 line (unseen).

Where do you wear them? Aren't they entirely waterproof?

I do sail regularly, but I don't intend to wear them sailing.

They are 100% classy enough to be worn in the place of suede or leather loafers. Rubber and mesh can look cheap, but these obviously don't look tacky.

I did just that when I joined. some people loved it, others hated but the consensus was it was very smart for someone of my age... I actually enjoyed it, knowing full well what could happen reading others' unfortunate posts. I took some advice and left others and coincidentally sent three pairs of DJs "Milana" loafers to the states from people asking me what my shoes were.

Style is personal so I don't think that anybody can completely comment on someone's attire unless that is the person the poster is trying to emulate. I may get bashed here, and definitely would on some other threads, but I think the majority of the Isia, Borrelli and Oxxford suits posted on the forum look terrible. But that's because my style is very soft shoulders and a very slim suit.

Edit: BTW, is there a link that shows the method to achieve that "dimple" knot JM (or others)? I reckon I hit it with a 90% strike rate out of pure luck... I tried searching, didn't see any of use but if you think I should go back just tell me and i'll search some more.

This is why I don't post much in WAYWRN anymore as well. Some of the critiques are so ridiculously picky that it's just not worth it, and then you see the same critiquers post stuff that is completely ridiculous. Then you have guys that think it's there god given right to never post any fits but be complete pricks to everyone else for no real reason. Stitch seems like a nice guy buy yes he shouldn't post as much and most likely has some i/net addiction issues to deal with I'd say. It's sad to see a lot of the old gaurd gone from the thread though.
